My biggest issue with the reloading in HD2 is it's not exactly the same as in HD1. There were very critical audio and visual cues in HD1 which would tell you when yourself (and other players) were about to bottom out their mag. Tracers would start to become bright red, and the firing sound would slightly change with a loud metal ping with each bullet fired. It has been quite difficult figuring out when exactly I should reload in this game, primarily because that critical mag information is no longer conveyed with these crucial cues. I have to glance over to the left side of my HUD to look at my current mag capacity. FWIW, like 80% of the challenge in HD1 was learning how to develop your periphery vision so you could keep an eye on everything around you like a hawk. So I'm sure with time and familiarity similar skill will be developed in HD2 with watching the HUD. But still, I miss the way the guns used to handle with these cues. Once you caught on to those, it made reloading way more efficient in HD1. Also allowed you to cover someone else, as you would instantly know they're about to reload.

Played on PC with my buddies all night last night. Some of us were on ps5 and some on pc. I DC’d once but was able to rejoin fairly quickly and easily. The friends list system was the main point of contention for our group though, took a really long time for friend requests to show up for some reason. BUT other than those two things, game ran great and was soooo much FUN. Big recco for you and your group.

I got it on PC and play it on my average performance laptop and I didn’t have any connection issues or any other issues that people have been saying. The only issue I’ve had is like a few seconds of lag maybe like once or twice, but that was it.

Good on you that you're not experiencing issues. However that means you should grill the game/devs about fixing issues for other users. AMD 7000 users can't even play the game. So if you spent most of your time played troubleshooting the game, oops you can't refund the game. Advocate for better.

There are only two types of clips in the gun world. Number 1: stripper clips, which are typically used to feed ammo into the internal magazines of guns such as the SKS. Number 2: en bloc clip, it holds the ammo inside of it until empty then shoots out the top when the bolt is locked backwards. The en bloc is most notably used in the M1 Garand, though it is also used in other platforms. Neither of these devices are in this game what you are referring to as a clip is in fact a magazine or a mag for short. Edit: there are stripper clipsin Helldivers 2 the autocannon stratagem uses them.

this game reminds me of a game i played called "Second Extinction". it had the same concept where you deploy and kill dinosaurs & extract. while extracting you will have raptors and other dinosaurs trying to kill you. it was also like hero shooter where every character had different abilities and perks. it sadly died to quickly.. but this is very much like that game. not bad tho... i hope it doesnt die too early. this genre is kinda niche and players dont always stick around for a long time.

Helldivers 1 vet tip, you reload slower when you reload on an empty mag. leaving at least 1 or the least you can time to lessen ammo wastage in the mag allows quicker reloads. DISC: does not apply to all weapons. like guns with internal magazines / box magazines etc. :D have fun delivering democracy Helldivers.

I’m having a blast playing solo, love the vibe of the game. But HP and difficulty is not based on party size. There are 9 difficulties (from Trivial to Helldiver) that you can sort through. We all start on Trivial and as you complete each difficulty you unlock a new difficulty. This is a problem for solo play because even at normal it is so overwhelmingly difficult (and I ran solo runs on Apocalypse in Remnant 1 and 2 and platinum’d Returnal so I’m no slouch here, lol) you need a squad. Further, you can’t gain access to certain resources or certain new activities and objectives unless you play on higher difficulties when those open up. So you can really only go so far on solo play. And quite a few higher tier weapons require two players to wield, and there are some bunkers in the world with resources that require two people pushing buttons at the same time to open. I tried jumping in matchmaking but you get a lot of friendly fire for laughs types, people quitting mid match, people stealing my pod drops without asking as soon as I called them down, people with mics off, people out to cause chaos. And I suspect this won’t go away during the game’s lifetime. So you basically need to have a group of friends that are all available regularly to get meaningful progress. Would love for them to look into tweaking solo play in the way Remnant does it (which is another squad shooter that is tuned really well to solo play). And this concerns me for the longevity of the game. And it would go a long way for solo players and for people who still want to play and grind when their squad isn’t available to log on. Hopefully this is something they’ll take a look at. All that being said though, the game is awesome, addictive, and a ton of fun. And I can still do a lot as a solo player, and have been running missions, collecting resources, and clearing the war bonds for better gear and weapons. I’ll def get my money’s worth and then some as there are dozens of hours of play here for solo players. But it will be significantly more grindy, and they will hit a wall at some point. Otherwise fantastic game though and it both looks and plays really great.

@@lemurlock4689 yah I might have just caught a couple bad matches. It was launch day and people were prone to f around I’m sure. There were a ton of trolls in Helldivers 1 though. Mostly people that were maxed out on XP and didn’t want to wait on extraction so they’d extract without everyone else. Lol. And purely for troll reasons a lot of the time. But while I’ve mostly still been playing solo in HD2, I have played some more multiplayer and people have been fine for the most part.

Thanks for giving me my daily dose of Liber-Tea! Personally I'm really enjoying the game. I played it about 3 hours last night, and it's just a fun game. No gimmicks really, it's just a fun time. Lots of games nowadays don't go for fun, but more the live-service side. This game does a good job at balancing the two. It does have its issues on PC, I did disconnect once, and there is a bug (no pun intended) where the first time you go to change armor, you will crash to desktop. The anti-cheat it uses is also a bit weird, but most games nowadays have an anti-cheat, so for me it doesn't really bother me. Overall, I think the game is a blast, and from what the devs talk about in their discord, it has a pretty good road map for the future. Keep up the great work, Luke!

I was a very big fan of the first game. And my only real complaint with the first game is that the game didn't cater to solo play very well, especially for the higher difficulty missions. I hope they balanced this game so solo play is somewhat more viable. I played a little last night and loved it. Looking forward to playing more, and playing with my buddies especially.

the automaton planet is basically Adam Smasher Universe so if you want to see the squadmate next to you get gibbed into an unrecognizable torso in a hundred ways, go there and hope the game doesn't crash

I love that this game just gets what players actually care about and that's fun lol literally thts it. I know what a thought right!? They understand that gameplay and fun factor is king. What I found really cool was how much the environment plays a role into the gameplay. If it's a snowy cold planet then your gun won't overheat nearly as much or as fast and it also effects your fire rate. How you'll slip on the ice and have to high step through the fresh powder snow, it's super cool man. Also how everyone in the world that is playing this game is all working together for a common goal is so cool. It makes it so immersive, if you look outside your ship all the other ships you see are actually other players and everytime you see those little white streaks coming from those ships its players being spawned into the game, sooo cool. When the ship also fires its guns, its them actually doing an orbital strike a player has called. Really cool stuff

Your experience on PC is interesting to me. I had none of those issues. There's a known bug where it crashes to desktop when you edit your loadout for the first time. The only other issue I had is trying to connect with randoms is seemingly impossible. If you party up before launching a mission, it doesn't have problems, but trying to connect to anyone from the map constantly loses connection. Otherwise, i've had none of those problems. I will say that I hope they resolve the network issues as soon as possible, as the key ingredient to Helldivers is being able to play with others, and if you can't find randoms and it relies entirely on having friends to play with, I think it will burn itself out fairly quickly, and the game is really something worth having a longer lifespan, just judging from how they've adapted from Helldivers 1, which I was a big fan of.

Some clarifications There are more enemies than alien bugs , they are in different parts off the galaxy. You don't have to extract within the timer , but when the timer ends your ships leave low orbit and you can't call stratagems

As a heads up, enemy hp doesn’t scale with difficulty Difficulty scales up spawn rates and big variety You won’t see chargers under challenging, but you might see titans as normal enemies later on At every difficulty, you will be able to one shot a small bug, but there might be 10x as many, needing a different weapons

Love the game, playing on PC with zero issues, even the connecting via link was simple for me. The medium difficulty missions are the real deal with tons of objectives and side objectives. Most of them even 2-part, where you go back to the destroyer in between the two parts. And the community is great, expected a ton of trolling with the friendly fire, but everyone gives it their best.
