This is actually my first time playing Helldivers, and by god this may be one of my favourite games of the year so far, and it's a hot contest given that Broken Arrow has come out as well and I've sunk MANY hours into that. The level of care and detail that Helldivers has, along with the open approach to how you handle the missions are both great, but the real beauty is the incredible movement and shooting controls. They're actually innovative, and the 'lagging' crosshair and diving combine to create some insane cinematic and fun gameplay experiences. I love this game man.

The ability to steer drop-pods into enemies is something I remember from Battlefield 2142 and it love it so much, it's an great, fun underutilised game feature.

Yeah the only issue is that it usually doesn't kill stuff. I remember that call-ins used to insta-kill anything they landed on, but I've landed on enemies multiple times and they haven't died, which really sucks.

@niggymonkey TBF, it's not that they didn't test their servers. They are just suffering from success. The expected myabe 100k players. HD1 was usually 10K. They did not expect at all that their servers will almost instantly cap and when they released that emrgency patch boosting cap from 250k to 360k (or 380 can't remember) it was capped again in about 20 minutes.

I have had too little time with this game so far. It is incredibly fun. Airstrikes are 1/5 of my kills, and one mission I fired over 100 shots per minute, on average. For 30 minutes. And only like 8 team kills so far! Edit: Oh! And I got to call my cruiser the "Arbiter of Audacity", which keeps making me giggle.

Easiest way to get past the server overload is just spamming a button until you get in - fun fact: If you're playing with at least another player in your friends list and he's in already (or you're in already) you can skip the "queue" and just straight up join in their game, straight up skipping the issue that no new lobby can get created at the moment

pro tips: 1. You'd want to use scout armor against bugs so you can outrun them and faster exploration. Heavy armor is exclusive for E X P A N D I N G FREEDOM to robots. Medium armor is jack of both worlds with wide range of great passives. 2. You can make almost an endless cycle of rockets with two people, first person equip the rocket and supply bag, the second person just need to equip rocket ammo bag, both people should bring supply drop strategem. Really OP synergy for a stand-off and change the theme of "helldivers" into "hellmakers".

Don't sleep on the autocannon for the 'endless boom boom' fun, it's not anti-tank but if you find a kill chute using that 'gunner carries spare ammo' setup things get spicy.

@@Solace_______bro my PC can’t even run a higher, or a little to big of a map, or if there’s to many particles on Roblox, and it constantly crashes if I mod HOI4 (I can run it on the highest settings unmoded), if I mod it will crash while loading, and if it’s a big mod (millennium dawn) it can blue screen my PC while in the game, if I’m lucky it just maybe crashes the game while I’m playing (yes this happens when I’m playing on lowest settings), and sometimes it blue screens when I open the browser, I don’t know what’s that about (I don’t keep any tabs open)

Helldivers 2 is one of those few games that managed to make the leap to 3D not only flawlessly, but used the added dimension to add so much to the game. The other game that comes to mind that pulled it off so well is Risk Of Rain 2. I also love the feel this game has. Like, you’re not playing as just a soldier, you’re playing as a Paladin of Freedom™!

I like to believe that the Helldivers are a special branch of the Federation's forces established in later years. It makes it funnier to think that humanity has become so nonchalant about the damn alien bugs within a few decades.
