I struggle with this piece for I dont even know what reason. It's not hitting the notes. Reading-wise this is a fairly straightforward and simple piece. When it comes to giving the piece soul is where I fail.
@violingardenacademy2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your experience:-) Do you have a story to this piece? Having imagery can help connect to the music. The one I have for this one goes like this: A little girl in a red dress walks into a ballroom in a palace, all by herself. And she sees her image in all of the mirrors, and imagines that she is dancing gracefully at a ball with lots of people. Then in bar 8, the sound moves to G and D strings, and in the story, a big bear enters the ball room, which scares the girl initially, but then she realises the bear wants to dance with her, so they start dancing. When the trill comes in bar 20, she gives the bear her index finger, he grabs it and he twirls her around, and then in the middle section as of bar 21, they twirl around, and the surreal imagery of the girl and bear dancing in the palace gives it a dream like feeling. Anyway, this imagery helps my students a lot, but I also encourage you to come up with your own! Wishing you all the best for your practice, and thank you for sharing your experience!

@violingardenacademy4 ай бұрын
It depends on your current level. If you know your review pieces well, then this pieces can be learned in a few weeks. If your review pieces are a struggle, then this one might take longer as the basic technique may not be in place yet. But I dont know your level, so its impossible for me to predict....

I am litterly just started this song and it’s already so hard. My teacher only asked me to play the first section and I am and I can’t barley reach the notes. ( My fingers are so short ). I am only 7
@adorablyyxannaa85694 жыл бұрын
This helped a lot
@violingardenacademy4 жыл бұрын
Perhaps your violin is too big? You should be able to reach all the notes in the first part easily. Only in the middle section do you have to reach with your fourth finger on the E-string which is a bit tricky. You can check the size by holding the violin normally, placing your left hand in playing position, and your arm should form a 90 degree angle. Another way to check the right size, is to have the violin in playing position and reach with your left hand to the scroll and try to wrap your hand around it. You should be able to do this quite easily on a violin that fits you. Generally, it is better to have a violin that is slightly too small, than a violin that is slightly too big, as it is heavier, and more difficult to reach with the fingers. All the best for your practice!
