Imagine a rap battle, but it's for violin. Paganini and Hahn stand facing each other in the streets, glaring. Paganini pumps out a flawless and moving rendition of his own 24th Caprice. The crowd shouts "OHHHH" and "AYYY," with no belief that anything could possibly to that. A bead of sweat trickles down the back of Hilary's neck. "No one said this was gonna be easy," she thinks. Without breaking eye contact she starts cranking out her own, even more ambitious rendition of the SAME CAPRICE, right in front of Paganini's shell-shocked face. The crowd goes absolutely ballistic as they heave Hilary Hahn up into an 1810's style crowd surf

and at the same time make the melody achingly beautiful, so the tremolo becomes incidental and just adds colour.

I could just picture Nathan Milstein’s impish grin, generously heaping praise in his inimitable Odessa drawl. He appreciated a good bit of fun, and this recording captures the fun in Milstein’s idea.

Yes, if you use the bow near the fingerboard you can play 3 notes at the same time, if you want to add one more note you have to rotate the bow
@racheldewitt8368
@racheldewitt8368 8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's really difficult to play any four notes simultaneously. It helps, though, that of these four notes only one is fingered and the rest are open.
