What a brilliant performance. Love the 1970's fashions. Groovy baby.

Lulu was with Maurice Gibb at the time. She's a great singer. Powerful emotional performance. Wonderful song.

No surprise, at ATV Elstree we had finished three 'This is Tom Jones' series by 1972 for the USA, and we had an infinity cyc!

Gosh blast from the past, I was 20 and LuLu 24. I blinked and so much time has gone. Lovely to see today her voice is as good as ever.

2:43 - can you imagine this being done today ? H&S would be all over it 🙂 Most people never realised just how versatile a singer she was

If you were in TV at the time, this was normal standard of production, ATV did it all the time.

Is this from one of her many missing BBC shows from that period or is it ITV?

This was an ITV show called '2Gs and the Pop People' (2Gs were Second Generation, a dance group). There were only 6 shows broadcast in June and July 1972 early on Saturday evenings. This was a great performance, as was this one by Slade, also from '2Gs and the Pop People' - kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5Wxg51ni89jaKs

In my opinion, the DEFINITIVE version of this classic. As good as the Moodys are, nothing can hold a light to this sparkling interpretation. Redolent of an age long gone
