All, based on the responses that I’m getting on this video, it may have not been explained well enough or may have not been engaging enough. I’d love to hear your thoughts so I can improve and make better videos. Please let me know in the comments.

I appreciate your tutorials. I have learned a lot about Canva by following you. Thank you. I have watched this tutorial multiple times and still don’t understand what the effort to apply all the hold outs to the clip gets you. Why not just use the adjusted second clip as the transition?

@steveshellenberger-it’s easier to understand based on the example that I showed at the beginning of the video. Think for example, that you are moving a video from positionX=0 on a keyframe at 0:00 to positionX=100 on a keyframe at 0:10. You’ll see that at frame 0:01 positionX=10 at 0:02 it equals 20 etc. with hold key frame applied to the keyframe at 0:00, at frame 0:01 positionX=0 at 0:02 it also equals 0 and so on. It changes suddenly to 100 in frame 0:10

I think I misunderstood your question. Thank you for taking the time to figure it out and for leaving a comment. If you take the first transition in this tutorial. , it’s like a regular eased grow transition but it’s staggered, grows in one frame, holds the size for 2 frames, using hold keyframe, and then grows again. There are 2 new things ; the staggered growth and the idea of simulating easing across multiple keyframes by copying the values from a real eased transition. Please let me know if it’s more clear now. Looks like I haven’t conveyed the idea in a clear way in the tutorial , based on the low views. I hope I did a better job in this comment. I’ll have to learn from my mistakes. 😀

It's an interesting idea.

I agree. Think about for example, creating color flashing text or letter by letter text animations.
