Cold, damp, rainy weather is very common in December in the northeastern US. Around New Year's, it gets somewhat "mild" for a few days. But then comes the real cold and a good amount of snow in January and February. Later, a stormy, windy March comes into play. Stay warm and healthy, everybody-especially you, Jade!

Part of the key to that is having the correct clothes to do the job. At this temperature one can stay warm even though wet inside. The heater helps to keep the hands warm.

When we do fall clean ups we sometimes have to suck up the piles in the dark and or rain. Gloves soak through the hoodie feels like its 30 pounds the pants soak through and stick to you the boots bleed through and ruin the socks. I can totally relate to what jade just went through and that maybe rain but its Dec that's likely 35-45 degrees and that's beyond unpleasant.

IMO, the mill needs a roof structure over it to keep it dry in the rain and Jade as well. It would also help keep them both cooler in the summer too. I bet they can find some lumber at a cheap price. It would give Gandpa something to do.

Frogg Toggs! Breathable, lightweight rain gear. Wore them on the motorcycle and never got overheated or wet. Wally World and many outdoor companies sell them. And they are inexpensive.

And don't forget a package of hand warmers to put in your gloves and boots before the snow comes in pennsylvania. As I was coming up I was a brick mason and a certified welder.
