Still, Lumiere was able to mercy-kill him but had already absorbed the full force of one of his negative-magic attacks, hence why he nearly died until Secre sealed his physical body away into stone.

I’ve always wondered about one thing, how does everyone know what anti-magic is when it appears literally nowhere outside of Asta afaik. Like sure i get that once you hear ”anti-magic” you’ll get what it does but if you’re going against it for the first time and nobody around knew beforehand that Asta had it then how does everyone realise ”Oh this is probably antimagic”.

The devil probably knows because it's from the same world as his magic. Licht probably knows because he was semi awake during their fight in episode 100. Lumiere probably knows from Secre, who has been watching Asta ever since he got his grimoire.
