Having him spend the entire Spade Kingdom arc whining that he's useless without his grimoire (despite him still retaining the enhanced magic from when he was a dark elf and had wiped the floor with Asta and Yuno while mindless) was already bad enough. Besides, Patry is one of the last four elves that aren't from the hidden elf village; given that all the elves in that village are direct descendants from Licht and Tetia, Patry and them are going to have to stay alive and reproduce if only to avoid Population Bottleneck and the Founder Effect.

Even though all we got to see of prime-Licht in action was one spell, there's much we can interpret from what we saw of the revived version: 1. He's extremely fast, likely even beyond Patry in speed. His spells are slower than Patry's because light is the fastest magic attribute, but Licht himself can move through the air to the point where it's almost as if he's teleporting, meaning he in all likelihood could keep up with and possibly even _outpace_ Julius. 2. His three swords can respectively do the following: cut through magic and reflect magic, absorb & release magic, and destroy magic down to the very cause-&-effect of a spell. 3.
