10 ITEMS, 20 AUTUMN OUTFITS | What I'm Packing For Europe!

Doing the 10x10 wardrobe challenge for Autumn with a few changes - I've created 20 outfits using 10 items (or 12 in my case because I ended up cheating and adding one more skirt). While I love doing this challenge every season, I especially love the idea of a 10x10 style challenge for travel packing.

SIZING REFERENCE
For reference, I am 160cm or 5'3. I wear an AU 6, XS. EU 34 and US 0 (I take one size down in US sizing). I am more pear shaped and often need to size up one size for pants for it to fit well at the hip. For jeans I am usually a W25, though depending on style, I also often go up to a W26.

Knit dresses are my favorite things to wear, especially with boots and a blazer (I have lightweight ones for warm-weather wear with sandals, too). I still feel frumpy when I put on sneakers with my dresses and skirts, which I wear most days. Perhaps I’m just too old to adjust, 62, but partly it’s because I’m short and look a lot better in medium heels. Lovely travel capsule, thanks.

Check if there is a hair dryer where you are staying. I wish I took mine to dry damp trousers and hair. Comfortable shoes/ boots for walking. A thermal top- damp cold feels colder than dry cold.

the links for the blazers dont work :( On the other hand, I am so happy you always show your style. Nowadays everyone seem to be walking around in leggins and crop tops or all Zara head to toe, that is so difficult to actually find people that dress well and that actually seem elegant like you ❤️

Beautiful textures, patterns, colour mix, but I wish you'd also brought a bright blue or maybe forest green top (e.g. in cashmere) - those colours would have matched with your neutrals, added interest - and they look so good on you!

Nice outfit ideas! Love tge grey and taupe combo 😍 Recently bought a winter coat in a (I guess) warm taupe colour (similar to your pants but just a touch warmer and lighter) but am a bit hesitant as to whuch colours go best with it.. ofc I'll probably wear it with most of my clothes but it's nice have somewhat of an idea of what pairs best with it 😊

Although I am an older traveler--80 yrs old --and not as svelte as Helen--still there is much to learn. I can look at my choices and think in terms of body shape and color to come up with 20 outfits and only 10 items. It will be hard, since I love so many of my pieces but want to pack light, look stylish and be comfortable with people I will probably never see again. My eyes are looking more selectively--I can do this

Love the video, Hellen. I am going to Portugal for Christmas for 10 days. I usually pack really light- carry on luggage for the whole trip, wear the heavy coat and sweater on the plane. Any other suggestions? You need to do a video just for me 🤣

If I was packing super light, I would bring extra jewellery because it takes almost no space, maybe a few different bags (eg canvas tote that can be folded down very small) or just an extra bag that is flat (if you own anything like this). Definitely check the weather before packing as when I went to Lisbon a few years ago, it was quite warm (by my standards in December). Whereas rain would definitely need some special packing.

Hi I’ll be in Munich GERMANY from Nov 6th until the 11th 2023, then off to Hamburg for another 6 days can ANYONE tell me what to wear as far as a winter coat goes🙄🙄🤔IM CONFUSED if I should wear a semi med coat more for late winter months in November OR should I wear a light jacket/coat with a sweater or sweatshirt? Mind you I do get Hot easily if I wear too much and it’s not That cold out I heard in November it can reach in the 60s in Munich is this true? I also DONT want to be carrying around a big coat with me . I’m also wondering if I can getaway with just a medium to heavy sweatshirt Only? Also what about winter boots or should I just bring my sneakers ? But what IF it starts snowing or gets slushy? I have a habit of always Over. Hi Helen, I am heading to Melbourne and Tasmania this December with my husband for our honeymoon, and wanna find out from your experience, should I pack for more winter clothes or more summer clothes? Understand December is TECHNICALLY summer there, but the range of temperatures Google gives me is so confusing!

It feels like a brave statement on your part. There’s so much enthusiasm for travelling ultra light around that no-one is speaking about the problems of not giving yourself a plan B. I’m sure packing just right is a skill people develop with experience.

Hi helen! I love the minimal take on travelling you have, people can get carried away with packing and not even wearing half of the items they brought! However, one ick I still have till this day is combining blue with black :// (like your linnen black top with that metallic bag and blue shoes) do you have any tips on how to ease into it? Thank you! :) though too be fair I did know I was going to add a few things at the end of my trip so figured underpacking slightly was the way to go ❤ oh for blue and black, I don’t think we have to wear every combo, if you’re not a fan maybe blue and brown? And then matching black with other shades :) otherwise wearing black with blue denim. This feels like a easy way to get into it as denim almost feels ‘neutral’
