I think some thing they might be missing is the people who do smash as a job and people who do it for fun. If smash is your job you can spend 100% of your free time with your gf. If smash is in your free time suddenly having a gf cuts your time spent in half or even more

I think it depends on the person that got into the relationship. For example there are people that goes to the gym and as soon as thry find a couple, they leave the gym and no longer excercise, same applies here, they are grinding and getting better, finally get a girlfriend and can't handle both things because most likely, they never had a relationship before and so they quit playing or they don't feel the fire anymore, because they feel "full".

Th only thing stopping dr. Mario from being viable is his lack of ground speed and awful air drift. Bump those two things up just a little bit and he immediately becomes a decent character. His kit is kinda broken on its own and his recovery is really only bad because his air drift is bad. It's still wouldnt be a good recovery but it wouldn't be bad

Honestly i feel like most people dont know how to play plant right. I think of him like a trapper, like snake. Id say on really good days i can win 2/3rds of the time on top tiers including Steve. This is my personal experience so would love opinions.

That's because matchups (and by extension character viability) don't matter nearly as much before high/top level play, since there will usually be a big enough skill gap between the players where that's the determining factor. Once you do get to high level play though, you start to feel the bad matchups a lot more

I'm the king of hot takes so I'm going to spit 3 of them. 1. Lucina is a mid tier character at best. She was hard carried by the early meta not relying on touch of death characters, but nowadays her nonexistent X factor is killing her viability. 2. Aegis and Corrin are interchangeable on the tier lists. As in, if you think Corrin is better, Aegis is literally right behind her and vice versa. Both characters are just dumb and their strengths far outweigh their weaknesses. I don't think one is significantly better than the other at all. I'm a Corrin fanatic so I will place her above Aegis on a custom tier list but like... Aegis is right there anyway lol 3. Phoenix Wright should be in Smash gosh dang it!

Not as bad as I think people make him, but not anything good. (Btw, Plant mains, please stop down b-ing in the poison cloud, you do it EVERY TIME) Pre-Fighter Pass 2 is potentially more balanced? Honestly idk patches made a big difference despite new characters' release. (Also from a casual opinion this is just wrong) Shake on Joker being top 5 easy with down gun unnerfed? I think Rister is correct, not a lot of Yoshis in NA so the opinions of Yoshi are much lower. Arguable. Game is most CERTAINLY balanced (at least relative to the rest of the series), but Steve being banned is arguable. Pfft, as if Smashers could pull. (Also not correct) Mega Man is not top 15. The goat has not been top 20 in either iteration of Smash he's been unfortunately.

hot take: K rool is not bottom 3, I think he is should be higher than DDD, Doc, and Plant (maybe Mii Sword, Kirby, and the Belmonts?). Belly armor is decently useful, realistically only breaks if you spam it, and can be used to tank through disjoints. K rool lives forever and benefits a ton from rage. His recovery is linear and has little mixups besides up air, but goes incredibly far vertically. Pretty good grabs, good tilts (minus down tilt), hard hitting aerials. Crownerang forces opponents to shield in neutral and can set up kill confirms. Blunderbuss is gimmicky but not too bad overall, and his counter reflects and has one of the highest attack multipliers, but is hard to activate. The only thing K rool is missing is a good combo game and a bad disadvantage state at lower to mid percents (although his disadvantage is better than most heavys due to his recovery and belly armor).

@ 1) Plant's down b afaik can't break through blocks, and Steve can use walls to mine past. Steve has better burst range, combo potential, recovery, edgeguarding/gimping, tech, easier to play, kill confirms, etc. 2) I guess arguable but I don't think it's true just due to the technical ability required to main Peach/Daisy. 3) I could see this. Won't buy it yet, but I do think Marth has untapped potential because everybody plays Lucina and a good player hasn't picked him up yet. 4) Pythra > Cloud >= Roy imo 5) Possible

I'll go one further with the Bayo take, i think she's top 10 RIGHT NOW. I don't think its a matter of when, she's top 10 right now. When it comes to top 20/15 takes, theres like 25 characters you could argue top 10 and I don't think any of them are that hot. (Min min def top 20 though) Ultimate is the most balanced smash game and honestly I don't even think its close. I'd list my own hot takes but I've said a lot already lol

Sonic is definitely TOP 2. Has 4 players in TOP 50, only rivaled by Steve. But unlike Steve players, Sonic players don't even have secondaries, which shows how good the character is that 4 highly skilled people think they don't need to to counterpick anything, while Steve does. Steve still ofc TOP 1 tho.
