Matt, your video’s are so entertaining, informative, in-depth, fun, educational, influential, & high tech. Matt not only are you an up and coming You tuber but you get to play with the most incredible LED’S on the planet....as a career. I’m obsessed with Light Emitting Diodes. They are just a marvel of technology and they have heavily influenced the actual styling of today’s automobile’s. They have revolutionized indoor residential lighting as well as commercial lighting from parking lots to adding safety to schools. They save a bunch of electricity hence money in every application they are used. There still is the challenge of extreme heat in certain kinds of high performance settings. I love that over $600.00 beast of a flashlight you did a whole video on. The built in fans are so intense and that thing seems to turn into a giant hairdryer! Anyway Matt keep up the great work. Philip

Nice job once again on the review! Just got my Mini today, and love it!! btw, I got the same exact lumens at 30 secs as you did, but mine is a NW tint and was using a VTC5D Vapcell at 4.19V. Got a tail reading at about 6.36 amps, but the tailcap will still have losses from those 6.36 amps. The D1S has the better beryllium copper tail spring. I'm gonna bypass both springs, ripping out the inner one -- should help. I like the feel of the Mini over the D1S I have - don't care for the smooth battery tube, even with the rough finish gray. The Mini is slightly longer but feels lighter and least has the lanyard hole in the cap that won't prevent a clean tailstand. My PVC lightbox is a Rick/Rodney original we carefully calibrated way back. I use a 34% conversion, and use dark foam around the flashlight head to remove any reflections.

I find your flashlight videos instructional and with enough explanations or know-how, good. Question: seven months ago I came across this flashlight while searching in the internet for a flood/thrower kind of flashlight, I saw the LedLenser P7 or P7.2 and P14.2, somehow these kind of flashlights can manage even light spill and a decent amount of throw light and most of them are not even more than 450 lumens except for one of them I believe it offers 1000 lumens, how are they're able to do it because they seem brighter than what they say, maybe you can explain a little more about it...hopefully. Ok thanks.

@@JasonWW2000 but to be real, ledlensers focus system is one of very very few focus systems which doesnt loose much output power (if they loose it at all?!) when completely zoomed. I also used a M7R X for nearly a decade daily now, and its very useful, but for proper light, i switched already to allrounder or pure flooder lightbeams and NW and/or Hi CRI ones. But if you only want to have one high quality flashlight for every use,zoomable Ledlensers are nice, since you got a perfect flood and a nice throw. At least my M7R X is still not bad compared to acutal 1x 18650er lights, only missing lumens (200-600Lumen is not that great, too high Low, too low High^^), which i can at least zoom out nice.

I see that the guy that runs the Parametrek website wrote that, "Lumintop is presently a 'never' (listing on his site) since they have done some extremely shady stuff." Hi Austin. Thanks for letting us know. My personal experience with Lumintop has been nothing but good. They have done a stellar job making the lights that were designed in cooperation with BLF members, and as far as I am aware there are no serous outstanding issues. I like Sony VTC6 unprotected button tops myself. I use them in almost everything and sell them in my shop. The chargers I like are the Xtar SV2 Rocket because its fast. I also like nitecore D2 charger. Its slower but I like the voltage display on it vs the "fill" display on the SV2. I run the unprotected cells in about everything. The only reason I can think you might need protected for a single cell light like the GT mini is if the springs are not long enough to work with a shorter unprotected cell. I've not had a chance to measure the kcd on the mini yet. As far as the readings I got shooting into the lumen tube, I got consistent repeatable measurements and no low battery warning, so I think that I must just have a 1-2 bin lower LED and less total current getting to that emitter.

Mine has 3 circles. The very inside "hot spot". Then a slightly larger ring called "corona" then a third ring that is much larger called "spill". Hi Matt, If i use 18350 x2 with xhp50.2 with the ori GT mini driver? Can this driver survive for this mod? Previously I bought a single cell cheap driver from fasttech, I’d tried this kind mod for my convoy C8 mod and its work. Any comment?

You would probly need to do more than just change the LED and battery. Most often in order to get away with what your saying you have to add a zener diode to protect the micro from the extra voltage. In this thread you can see an example. www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?387383-The-IMR-Enhanced-Zener-Mod-to-run-the-MT-G2 You have to know which pin on the micro, diode value and sometimes change a resistor or two on the board also. If you want to do it I would ask some of the smart guys in the GT mini thread. They will be able to assist much better than I will.

The real problem is that the xhp50.2 will likely burn up with a FET driver. They usually do.

Does this out throw the Thrunite Catapult V6 ?
@mortuus46016 жыл бұрын
on paper both say 750m throw but i think since the v6 uses xhp35 vs xpl i guess the extra lumens on v6 makes it throw a little more but doubt u see the difference..

Dazza I've got the catapult V6, and love the thing, but I just ordered the imulent R35 it's only slightly larger but is a beast, chose it over the TN40 and TN42 the 42 only has narrow spot, the R35 has more spread and 1,333 meters throw, check out the R35 as your top dog light, unless of course you like Thrunite, R35 is made in China but all reviews say quality made. Also as a lesser light to the V6 buy harbor freights the Qauntum 588 lumen flashlight for 12 bucks, good little adjustable spread or extend to throw the light, did I say 12 bucks.

G M my RT 35 arrived yesterday and just like car fob remote batteries someone put skin oil when loading my RT35 and it was flickering and would not work if I shook it, so a light damp cloth with rubbing alcohol to clean the battery tops and then I screwed it in fully tight and now no proablem, always use tweezers when loading car fob remote batteries because that skin oil will effect connection.

G M oh I forgot that RT35 is scary when you turn that monster on, even the lowest mode is strong.

@@travis1118 I have not done one, but it would be fairly simple. The bezel is not glued. It is a good idea to take the LED/mcpcb out of the light to do them. You get a cleaner cut, especially on the 70.2
