Indeed it helps a ton. In the works ;)

It’s really an awesome update. Not as big as I expected but it has some cool new features. They should really jump into VR soon tho, maybe combined with the “game mode” that UE offers or the plug-in for Revit that lets you “play” in your model (can’t remember its name right now). I was actually expecting something like that in this update. Great video man, much more depth than what the actual Lumion team does.

Thanks I appreciate it. That's sort of my schtick, Lumion makes tutorials for everyone to understand and I make tutorials for the advanced (beginners can certainly learn from them too)

CWeltonDesign I’m a big fan of your tutorials. The ones about adding custom materials really helped me at stepping up my rendering game. 👍🏻

Which laptop are you using? And what are its specs?
@CWelton64 жыл бұрын
MSI RTX 4000 WS75. It's a great professional workstation choice, powerful enough without getting to big, there are also the gaming variants that would have an equivalent RTX 2070 in it.

Hello there. Can i ask you a question? did you noticed any improvements in interior rendering? i mean in rendering itself. Lighting etc. Thanks for the video btw .
@CWelton64 жыл бұрын
Lumion 10 provided more utilities and content this time. The engine itself is essentially unchanged. The real time preview though is crucial to optimizing the final output, but ultimately no, you won't see a real change in your interior render quality, you'll just save time setting up lighting and have more content to fill it with. Hope that helps.

Hi Chris, Thanks for your great tutorials! Can you help me learn how to navigate Lumion better. The way you toggle and move around is seamless, and I still don’t have very good control how I navigate. Do you have any tips you could give? Thanks
@CWelton64 жыл бұрын
That's a good point. Something I don't even think about anymore. I'll definitely take note of that and plan a video in the future. I am still trying to find a reliable way of showing my keystrokes and clicks in my tutorials as well. Thanks for the feedback!

HI is there any idea why autocad solid models imported as a single block white model without layer colours ?
@CWelton64 жыл бұрын
Hmmm..not super familiar with autocad into lumion, but my guess is you need to assign materials in autocad not jusy layer colors to differentiate colors/materials. I might be totally misunderstanding you issue, but hope that points you in the right direction. Need to create unique material id's for Lumion

@@CWelton6 Probably some installation file issue . it works fine in 8.0Pro and 9.5Pro

Do you know if nVidia RTX GPUs are getting any performance boost for having the ray tracing functionality over the Pascal GPUs? I currently use a Titan X (pascal) and even in Lumion 9pro I was getting better and faster results over 2080Ti.
@CWelton64 жыл бұрын
That is interesting, but no not at this time. Still using raw gpu power
@fedema674 жыл бұрын
Hello, with which computer components are you running this tutorial?
I have another question too, gaming gpu like 2080 , 2070 or Quadro ,. which one is better for lumion ? I am planning to buy one with 2070 8gb, that's enough to handle this much trees and stuffs smoothly ?
@CWelton64 жыл бұрын
2070 is plenty. The 2080 is just a little boost above that for the same vram. Quadros run roughly the same, but are a ton more expensive, so I wouldn't recommend one for a personal rig.

still 3000eur. Not subscription based, not for students outside the US. If you are a young talented person in the 3D environment...tough luck, you stick to Corona..

Indeed more pricing options would open the door to a ton of small users. I was one of them 5 years ago. I spent the equivalent of 8 months rent on a Lumion license when I was just a college student. That decision determined the rest of my career and has paid for itself many times over with time saved in rendering and workflow. Granted I'm not promising that will work out for everyone.
