When in MF mode for 12-32 or other focus ring-less lenses, you can focus clicking left/right on the cursor ring. Press and hold to quickly rack, or single touch for small adjustments. It's actually OK to use, better than touchscreen slider. I tested this on GX85 and GX850, and the G100 manual shows the same feature.

You are a truly great photographer Hielma. I saw your photos of skaters and they are classic. You are well trained and definitely meant to be a photographer. I see many so-called photographers that take tasteless shots and I can't help but think they'd probably be better off doing something else, you know? Lots of tasteless photographers out there who talk crap about Lumix cameras- and they spend more money on high-end brand equipment as compensation for their lack of artistic creativity/skill-set.

Hi Andres, Thank you so much for your kind words! I have been shooting skateboarding for many years now, and I also run a non-profit skate club for women, so I have lots of access to that community and that gives me lots of chances to hone my skills. Hmm, yes, there are definitely a lot of folks who like to trash-talk Lumix cameras. I hope it makes them feel good. I try to stay on the positive side of the discussions and work on my craft instead. Cheers!

Hey marlene, thanks for this video js got the g100 and was looking for tutorials on the camera and theres not much or any out there. I was particularly interested in the 4k photo settings and how to use them after watching a previous video on the g100 where u mentioned its one of your favorite functions on the camera. Please if you can make a video about this it will be very much appreciated. You can even go as far as making other videos dedicated on the other great features and how to use them. Thanks

Glad to hear you like the video and the camera. Yes, it's kind of an underdog, but it seems like a few KZbinrs are finally starting to notice and review its great features. I will be making more videos on this camera, but so far they're not very popular. Hopefully that changes soon! The 4K photo settings work similarly on all Lumix cameras. If you check out my G9 videos on the topics, you will get a lot of information. Hope that helps! Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Steven, Great to hear from you again. I agree that most cameras are good, especially for enthusiasts like myself. This one definitely has some limitations, but the tradeoff for the price, size, and convenience keeps it in my favourites list for many of the subjects I photograph - especially street photography. I'm using it more for my KZbin videos too. So easy to grab on my way out the door. In the end it comes down to where I find my joy. And once I get my hands on the new 9mm f/1.7 lens I'll be smiling from ear to ear! (Sadly the 9mm is not available in Canada yet.) Thanks for the chat -- and thanks for the "Coffees" too!

Thanks for this video it has been really helpful. I just picked one up the other day and it came with a 500 page owner manual, wooohooo, wow this is going to be a learning curve. I play your camera instructions at HALF speed in Utube settings ..and follow your video step by step.....my thoughts Lumix MF via screen.. works , on a tripod it eliminates misfocus, breathing, and focus motor noise....THE same can be achieved in AFS setting , where focus speed setting can be adjusted. I think superior ....Manual focus focus is very fast ..when in AFS ifocus speed can be slowed...adjustment range is 10. Lumic AF works in bright light..better still with a bright wide aperture lens...Ther way years ago for press work..and we used with a Hasselblad for candid wedding shots was set focus distance and exposure for a usable depth of field... Another a wide angle lens ..greater depth of field ..ie Leica 16mm 1.7 or Sigma 15mm 1.4..although Sigma spoils G100 small form...just an idea,,. I must add I now preferer my Xiaomi 11 pro..image is V good 4k video excellent in good light..a down sampled 6K sensor ...Am eying xiaomi 12s Ultra one inch Leica sensor and lens full sensor coverage complete with Leica colour..all for a princely £900 .Phones give basic.edit and post to Utube immediately stabilisation is better than Lumix ..some use a gimble about £100...for basic Utube I think phones a better option. How do you get the lens to retract? This is my firt day using the camera and I can't get the positions of the lens rings to where the vertical lines on the two more outer rings line up with the white dot. Only the line on the center ring lines up with the dot. The outer ring won't turn any farther to the left than where the number 12 is marked. The vertical line is still off to the right. Can you help with this? The 500+ page PDF User Guide doesn't have a troubleshooting section that I could find. Thanks so much for any suggestions you may have.

Sorry you're having problems Emily. Grab the textured lens ring and turn clockwise toward the 12 and just beyond that, so that the white lines match up. It can be a bit stiff, but it will retract once you're past the 12.

Hello Hen, You have discovered the upper limit of the flash shutter speed. I find in disappointing as well. But I have to remember that this camera was designed for vloggers and video and not photographers. Although I think it works pretty good for photography as well but is not the best choice for flash photography. Having said that, the little pop up flash has saved my photos on occasion when working indoors. The G100 Camera Owner's Manual does mention the 1/50s sync speed. Go to page 232. (Link to all Lumix owner's manuals is in video description.) Thank you for watching my videos! Cheers.

That's a long answer. Indoors or outdoors? Moving subjects or still? Start with iA Mode on your G100, if you're really new to photography. Then take those settings and modify them if needed. In general though, you need a slower shutter speed, wider f/stop and higher ISO when shooting in low light.

i just got this and the flash is giving me a hard time. sometimes it goes off and sometimes it doesn’t… do you have any suggestions on what to do?
@ImageMaven Жыл бұрын
You might have to change the flash settings or the Mode you're shooting in. If you want it to fire all the time, use any mode except iA. iA Mode will choose if the flash fires. P Mode by comparison, can be set to keep it on all the time. Also it will not fire if it's not fully recycled. Need to wait a few seconds depending on your battery level. Hope that helps. All of this is in the camera manual too.

So that tells me that there is too much light to use the flash. Indoors it works because it's low light. Also you're limited to 1/50s for sync speed and that's super low for outdoors. It's not the camera, it's the light you're shooting in.
