Well, but my A7Siii & a7Riii both kills the S5 with their autofocus systems. It's such a shame Panasonic still are stubborn about updating their autofocus system 🤷

I just ask For 2 things as a S5 user... FullHDMI Port and A new Autofocus! The Sony FX30 is Cheap and Very good. Like you said, they need to go and copy the FX3 and FX30 High end and middle End Cameras. Like the S2H Be the king and The S5MK2 the entry level Duo. and realized 80% of the Lumix users Go with Lumix for Video Features. Thats my hopes!

Greetings from China, beautiful scenery ! I'm hoping for an M43 camera from Panny with PDAF, GH6 MKII maybe. I don't think that S5II will displace many A7IVs because of the huge and growing eMount lens range. Also Lmount lens performance with good AF remains to be seen, Sony are really amazing at this stage. But let's hope for the best, I wouldn't mind getting back into M43 or even Panny full frame.

Yeah, unfortunately Sony does have a significantly bigger market share as of today. One of the reasons why people gravitate towards Sony more than Panasonic is because of the hype on YT and PDAF. There's so much more content revolving Sony that it's hard for a consumer not to go to the brand that's the most visible on KZbin. I like Sony too but when Panasonic releases this new AF system I truly believe we'll see a shift in the market share! Would love to see a M43 & S-series with PDAF and I really think that's coming next year. Thanks so much for sharing and watching!

@@Naumachia It seems like all these camera companies are run by engineers, Panasonic have procrastinated themselves out of the market with DFD. Sony is grabbing market share because the competition is bad overall, not just in camera technology. But let's hope for the best :D

I totally agree. Hopefully we'll see a clear roadmap when Panasonic announces that 'new technology'! I read somewhere that UK dealers has already set dates for Panasonic representatives to come to their store and show off that 'New technology'. Panasonic need to go with all they have in the next S5 II, because they need to gain market, even if their margins are slim. The more high end cameras could have 8k, more fps for photography, better slow motion, etc

Quantity is not everything. Most Sony lenses aren’t breathing corrected for starters. In the end it depends on: which system has the better selection for what you need? Plus, worth pointing out that all modern Sigma lenses are on both mounts

I see your point but honestly that's not a problem in the real world. Lenses are adaptable if you find yourself needing something that stretches outside current L-mount lineup but even still, most of the L-mount lenses available are really, really good. As L-mount grows, more third party manufacturers are going to join and with DJI in the same booth I think we're going to see some pretty nice things going forward! Nothing wrong with E-mount however, really great lens selection for Sony users and I'm happy for them! Thanks for watching and sharing!

They can’t make the S5 too good because it will eat into S1H sales too much but even the S1H can’t do 60p full sensor read out.

Exactly, But it’s time that 50/60P FF becomes standard in cameras at this price point, it needs to evolve. Especially if they want to steal sales from A7IV. They should let the S2H have 4K120P with no or small crop, global shutter, prores codecs internal, record to SSD, tilty-flippy screen, low pass filter, better low light performance, built in fan, false color, time code etc. It’s time for cameras to get better! @@JeffBourke Yeah, I’d love to see a cinema line from Panasonic at this point 😄 A new EVA 2 to compete with the FX6 for real. I’m on the verge of needing a FX6-style camera and I’d like to stay with Panasonic if possible. If not something big happens I need to consider changing system before I buy more L-Mount lenses. But I’m hopeful we’ll see something great when Panasonic announces a new camera!

I hear you and your worries might be justified. I was even close switching to Sony a while ago. We will just have to see what Panasonic announces. AF has come a long way since it was first released so I find it difficult to believe that they'd release a 'bad' AF system (If that's what they're planning). But still, to me there's so much more to a camera than it's AF system even though I talk a lot about it in this video. If S5 MK2 would get something that even resembles Sony AF I'd be very satisfied. @@Naumachia i ditched my S5 it was way to unreliable, not just the AF had some glitches on it and it dosent work teathering with Capture one. Professionally i went for Sony and personally i use Fujifilm. There was also an incident where Panasonic Sweden or Nordic stole an image from me and had a really bad attitude about it FujiFilm Af is not the best but it behave in a consistent way witch make it workable. It's to bad S5 have alot of stuffs that are really good it was a camera that i liked and hated at the same time haha.. But now days i use AF all out for my professional work when i dont use Cine lenses and have no plans to stop doing that.

@@Kim_Alexander So sorry to hear that they did that, not cool at all. I use Capture One too but not with tethering, sucks that it doesn't work with that. Which Sony do you use if I may ask? There's absolutely no wrong or right answer to choosing a camera system. It just comes down to what seems like a good fit and as long as the camera doesn't hold you back. I wouldn't feel comfortable changing to Sony currently for three main reasons: V-Log, shutter angle and the IBIS. Some things that seems nice with Sony is AF (ofc) and E-mount though!

@@Naumachia I use A7Siii and A7iv one for film the other for stills and sometime film the combination is very good. The match extremely well Use those together with G-master 24-70, 70-200, 50mm 1.2 and Samyang 85mm 1,4 I prefer the Samyang 85mm over the G-master I tried them both. Skin looks amazing on the Samyang. As you say I miss Shutterangle and the Panasonic IBIS, my workaround fot the Shutter angle is pre sets on the PSAM dial for 25, 50 & 100 FPS V-log is nice, but the new Sony S-Cinetone is also good, perhaps just as good as V-log. The king of colors however is Fujifilm :) Panasonic have a desktop app that allows teathering to the computer. You can set the destination folder to a Capture one Capture folder and run it in the background. Then you can view the images in Capture one. The only thing you are missing out on is the ability to get the adjustment from the previous image when shooting & Live view I hope that Panasonic pulls out something amazing in this release more cameras and competition on the market is good!

@@Kim_Alexander That sounds like a great combination! What's great too about Sony is the third party options among lenses! I like the idea of using C1-C3 as presets with shutter speed already set. And I must agree with you on Fujifilm. I used to own a X-T4 and I was so pleased with that camera and the 16-55 f/2.8. I miss it but sometimes I do stupid mistakes 😅

Yes! They’re great for a certain type of productions but in my opinion not ideal. What I’d love to see is a ’FX-Line’ where EVA2 (with L-mount and similar specs to FX6) would have smaller cinema-style body to go with it. The FX6/FX3 is more or less a dream combination for me and like it is today there’s nothing coming close to that in Panasonics current lineup! Thanks for watching and sharing! Happy New Year! 🤩

Is that your wish or prediction? As it looks to me right now they're aiming to crush mainly the A7IV as competition and that won't happen if they arm the S5 with a videocentric sensor. I think that the S5 coming up won't be a 'H' version but I'd gladly see that they would release one in the future. For hybrid cameras megapixels are key to making them work for both. Plus, with high resolution sensors, we get to actually crop into 4K APS-C if we need to which can be useful at times. That's not possible with lower resolution sensors unfortunately. What we need to remember is the competition and where the current S5 sits at the moment. The S5 MKII won't be a top of the line camera since that's not the target audience, in my opinion. Panasonic needs to cover the ground for hybrid shooters and videographers on a budget first (which means the bulk of their customers). Then they'll probably release a S2H (or whatever it's going to be called) and give that all the features of a top of the line camera such as extreme low light capabilities. Personally I'd gladly take a 10.2 megapixel sensor but that will be if Panasonic ever decides to actually pursue a cinema line which seems far fetched at the moment but who knows! I’m no camera engineer but I think that would be difficult due to the processing power of S5. May be possible in a camera like the GH6! Even if it was possible I think that Panasonic wouldn’t release a new AF system without capitalizing off it by releasing new models. For phase detect af, no it's impossible. Phase detect needs sensor hardware support and GH6 and S5 do not have that.

Unfortunately Panasonic does not hear people. We've been telling all this time that we need 4K 60 from a full sensor because with crop that's a lot of trouble with optics. For filming this is simply unsuitable. Who needs this camera if the same thing happens again? Really for 3 years Panasonic could not figure out how to make a reading from a full sensor? It's just incredible, I've been waiting for this second update to come out and it's useless That's just terrible. This is probably because they left old sensor that doesn't allow for a full sensor reading.

I can manage without a EVF! For all I care they could remove it entirely 😂 But I understand if you're a photographer or just used to using the EVF.
