As already said, have found these deep dives and Q/A’s a tremendous useful insight. Also as mentioned it’s always been a murky, precarious task editing midi with fears of moving or deleting other sections as you focus in and on flow, when not having the luxury of others or a team around you or the knowledge of endless manual shortcuts to instantly get the job done as you switch different applications. Finally Luna is slowly consolidating everything ie Audi/midi/latency/workflow/analogue feel with openly shared knowledge sessions that are natural, fun and don’t come over as elitist, robotic or pretentious. PS Never liked the word Daw ever, and after this, Midi no longer makes me think no swing, no life, no feel, no thanks, quantise no longer turning hours of work into a Roland TR-727 splash screen nightmare. Bus sends are now the norm’ in a mix. Parallel compression doesn’t remind of a pseudoscience for mix engineers to hide away in subscription services. Shape and ARP actually sound and act as we hoped they always would. ARM is a game changer for musician based production where programming takes second stage. So... How would I describe Universal Audio.... the artistes palette. Finally I’m able to paint what’s in my head because you provide a reliable canvas of true quality, along with easel and frame for the brush to flourish and dance through the artistes hand encouraging growth and stability in a world of possibilities x As a thunderbolt 2 silver Apollo Quad user just need to hunt down a good 2nd hand Apollo Twin MKII ‘Quad’ in UK for a little more lush DSP on mix heaven

Does Luna have midi clip cloning? You know, make a change in the first clip of a track and the other clips will mirror those changes.

I just tried the. Roland TD-50K with LUNA. I got some sound out of it after 2hrs of trying. I just don't know what I'm doing just yet. It's wired that I was able to use Generic Mode inside of my Roland and still be able to switch up sounds inside of my Roland. Generic Mode is used for Software. If you can please do a video on setting up the Roland V Drums or any E-kit with 8 Midi tracks and headphone monitoring mix. And show us how to get the audio out into a two track stereo mix.

So, Im using a Korg Triton LE to play Keyscape plug-in into LUNA, and im playing the tracks perfectly, yet on play back its off, and sustaining notes. Can I get a little help. FYI I don't have this problem in Digital Perrformer . Also, I am using a Hackentosh.

My Midi is causing my audio to stop working and I have to restart. It works for awhile then stops. Also the waterfall track hangs on notes and is all garbled sounding when this starts to go out. That's how the horribles start. This didn't happen until I started using the Waterfall. It was fine with just Superior drummer but I was not putting the midi file in Luna but leaving it inside SP3. This is a mess I hope I get a fix on this soon.

really wish the velocity is colored like logic pro, I find it much easier to recognize the velocity value when it is color,ed hope UAD take this comment and implement them at some point in the future! at this point midi is still not as good as logic or ableton

Is there any way to replicate the track colors of Pro Tools. The ones in LUNA seem very harsh and limited. Also could those colors be applied to the body of mixer console strips for visual clarity?

I cannot get the STATUS indicator in the midi Workflow menu to flicker when entering midi notes either from an external keyboard controller or the querty keyboard on my Mac Studio despite the fact that the midi notes are being recorded and the audio generated by the VI Shape can be heard. Is this a Mac OS problem? I'm using Mac OS Ventura. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Regards, Alan

How do you copy and paste the same midi notes to another lane without losing their position? I have a ride cymbal that I'd like to hear copied to a crash cymbal to hear them both at the same time. I would just copy and paste using the playhead as the reference, but my midi is not quantized (nor do I want it quantized) so it's proving challenging to get the midi notes in the same place on the other lane. I know the key command in Logic is alt+shift+click and drag... but that doesn't work in Luna. Thanks!

I FIGURE IT OUT!!! I copied and then pasted to the exact same lane, then used the arrow keys to move the notes up! Whew!!! Yay!

just bought a Roland VAD 306 edrum set with a TD 17 brain. Can I play 2 instrument tracks at the same time triggering 1 from a keyboard and 1 from the drum set and hear them both simultaneously? Kinda like a midi Jam session

Make sure your Channel DSP pairing is not set to the max. This will take away Virtual Channels which LUNA uses for low latency monitoring paths. Also, get a ticket open with support, they'll have more detailed troubleshooting steps for you to try. u.audio/support

How do I have multiple midi channels to one instrument track ?? i.e midi track 1 going in to the instrument as midi 1 Midi track 2 going in to the instrument as midi 2 and so on

LUNA doesn't directly do this yet. There is a way to make it happen using the IAC bus. Be sure to hit the Feedback button.

@@UniversalAudio Much appreciated however, no idea what you mean. I looked in the manual - nothing about IAC busses - looked online got easily confused. No idea why Luna hasn't got the basic requirement of multiple midi channels to one instrument. Bizarre - makes composing like going back 20yrs

Thanks but unless im daft (which is likely) - that doesn't appear to allow me to use just one instrument within LUNA and have multiple midi "tacks" using just that one instrument. It appears to allow multiple external channels to use one instrument but not multiple midi "tracks" internally within LUNA - apologies if im daft and missed the obvious

hi universal audio I'm working with Mac Pro 8GB RAM and I have 131GB free space . but the render is going up to 40% and upwards till it distorts .I notice that as soon as I start adding Neve summing.ive just started mixing with lunar and I love the sound but its frustrating.is 8 GB to small to operate luna? also how do I change the buffer size?my sample rate is 44.1kHz . I would like to set the highest buffer to mix.any help would be appreciated.cheers

8GB of RAM means you likely have an old processor, maybe an i5? LUNA needs a beefy computer.

It is an i5 but the computer is brand new. Not even a year old.

I’m going to have to go upgrade my iMac 🖥 from 8 to 32 GB I have 1T already built in so I’m guessing that should be one good thing right. Il have to try get another Mac Pro that can handle the pressure. Thanks 🙏🏾

It's the CPU that makes the most difference with DAWs. RAM and hard drives don't make that big of an impact.
