The ancients weren't stupid... the myths are not told because ancients are like children. Respect your own culture, man. These stories are there with science embedded, all the science in the world. Western world knows nothing of the soul.. people think they are going to die after one life. Western world doesn't know about Rahu and Ketu, and these nodes which cause eclipses. Vedas are so advanced.

Moons plane will be in alignment with ecliptic plane in those times.so nodes will be close to sun and moon in apparent view..so both the eclipses are occuring..

@@jobalert3838 I think it is just a matter of terminology calling the point of intersection of the ecliptic and the orbit of Moon......The movement of nodes were well understood by the ancients. And in Astrology anything in the sky which is permanent and moves relative to the background stars, have been said to control our fate somehow....So, Rahu and Ketu are important things in Astrology.

In 14 days Moon's position is not shifted far from the nodes ( 17° is the eclipse limit?) so there is chance of another eclipse.But this does not happen always & why so, difficult for me to imagine.
