Also the telescope might have been built onto a free flying LM ascent stage. Then they lost access to a Saturn V and had to redesign using a Saturn 1B, and using its second stage was a wet workshop. Then they got a Saturn V back for the project, and just decided to cut down on complexity by turning it into a dry workshop. That’s why the floor is that strange hollow grid; it was designed to let fuel flow through.

That was added because of lack of research on my part, that foil exposed on the real Skylab was actually due to external panel damage. So the fact that I had foil deploy on the outside makes zero sense whatsoever, so it trurns out XD
