I LOVE this topic. As a big fan of blood magick I love that you discussed considering where the blood is coming from (menstrual blood versus a finger prick). It definitely can add additional correspondence! 🖤

And who doesn't love correspondences?

I've used by blood in making sigils for myself and consecrating things such as my BOS. I like that you mixed blood with your spouse as part of your marital ceremony, perfectly symbolic!

I know, right? The bond we share is unbreakable. :)

Great considerations! I like the distinctions you made, and you chose well where to edit. When an experienced practitioner speaks on such matters, it's fun to see the places where they left well enough alone under the circumstances :) I concur about the general uses and applications. Blood is more of a specialty/focusing ingredient, not some almighty substance in general. Some of those applications can be important, but not just because of the blood. There are numerous other reagents that I would rate as inherently more powerful for life magic in general, and plenty of ways to substitute less problematic ones instead of blood in most workings. I think some people, especially modern "town kids," get an exaggerated sense of blood's power because it seems so exotic. To the typically rural witch of traditional times, when most people lived on/around farms anyway, animal blood was basically a throwaway ingredient they had in abundance (along with chicken feet/beaks, hooves, intestines, skulls, and other low-grade dietary items). You won't find old-timey spells called "The Banishment by Prime Grade Fillet Minon and Triple-Cream Brie." They ate (or sold) the good stuff and used the scraps for the spellwork. It was stuff you'd otherwise toss out the back door for the hounds to chew on. For sympathetic magic and divination, it's all about the same. Some of us have been doing sympathetic magic just fine with bits of weathered bone and shed feathers in the wild, for tens of thousands of years. It's how we kept people fed through the Ice Age, eh? :)

Your comment here made me snicker. You always seem to evoke some sort of emotional response from me! :) I concur with your thoughts here (per usual) - thank you for appearing back in the comments. It is always a joy to read your thoughts on the topic. Any suggestions on topics for future videos?

@@CricketSong Thanks so much! I try to throw a little oddball observation and stand-up routine into most of these comments -- partly to hopefully make it worth the time spent reading it, partly because I still haven't really accepted the loss of Douglas Adams and George Carlin from this realm, and partly to compensate for some of the cosmic weirdness that will inevitably peek through even when I'm not doing it on purpose. As for potential topics, let's see... how about "# things that are actually easier to do with magic" or "If science and technology keep getting better (and weirder), will there be anything left for magic to do?" or "Common spells there is no point in casting" or "Most embarrassing successes in magic, aka beware you might get what you wished for" or "The amazing magic of a simple bluebell blossom in the morning sun." If I survive this last sequence of wandering, I'll be getting "animist channel" revved up with some actual content next year (plans within plans!?), and I expect to do some stuff like those mixed in with my wyrdness, wyldness, & esoteric theory programs. Could make for some "tag" chains if people get into it.

I have had some great results using blood. I find it most helpful when I'm trying to obtain a specific goal. It helps me stay on track. That's a good thing for me because I tend to lose focus halfway through. I accomplish a lot when working with blood. I'd only recommend it for situations you want permanently ✨I liked this video. Thanks for dropping thisl 💎

Thank you for watching and sharing your experience with blood magick. I agree with you completely! The spells I tend to cast with blood are definitely spells where I desire the outcome to be permanent.

I've only used blood a few times, and it was so powerful, I never used it again. The first instance was a love spell in my teens. I had way too many people confessing their attraction for me. I was like nope, never again. I used menstrual blood for my pregnancies. How do I know it worked, besides having 4 beautiful babies? After my last child I ended up have tissue and an ovary removed due to endometriosis. My doctors were surprised I even had healthy pregnancies. The process sucked (I was sick and in a lot of pain with all of them) but they came out healthy and well. My youngest is now ten, and I haven't used blood since. It works way too well for me. Lol

I’m not a fan of blood. That’s probably a little too hardcore for me. Plus…it’s sticky.
@CricketSong2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it can be sticky although I don't tend to use a copious amounts of blood. I just use a few drops and it works well for me. I can certainly understand the desire to NOT work with it though and there are plenty of other options. Much love, Jessica.
