Walking on a Flashlight Beam is Riverside frontman Mariusz Duda's fourth album with solo project Lunatic Soul. The fifth album, coming in September 2017, is called Fractured, watch the teaser here - www.kscopemusic...
Walking on a Flashlight Beam serves as an incredibly emotional prequel to the first two Lunatic Soul albums, and covers a theme of self-imposed solitude and has a strong sense of foreboding with the knowledge that the first two albums focus on death and the afterlife.
Commenting on his fourth opus in 2014, Duda said: “These are very dark and intense compositions but very melodious too. I think it’s one of the best things I’ve ever written, if not the best one”.
The artwork was created by the renowned cover artist Travis Smith who has previous created covers for the likes of Opeth & Riverside.
"It's often like the best film music... distinctly dramatic, verging on gothic from the opening eerie noises... honours the Pink Floyd branches of the Porcupine Tree" - Prog Magazine (UK)
"In nine pieces he creates a soundscape that has no equal. With this album he recommends himself for a collaboration with Steven Wilson. A collaboration at eyelevel." 9/10 - Eclipsed, Album of the Month (DE)
"Impressive as all the Lunatic Soul albums have been, this is almost certainly Duda’s most impressive offering to date." - Echoes and Dust (UK)
"Duda sounds so much like Depeche Mode, David Sylvian and Steven Wilson that you might consider [the] highest chart positions [for] songs like "Gutter" and "Treehouse". With album #4 he delivers the strongest/convincing album of his solo project" - Visions (DE)

Imagine this... Mariusz Duda + Steven Wilson + Mikael Akerfeldt = The new Storm Corrosion album.

Judging after Strom Corrosion I rather have 3 different albums than 1 by them working together… But 1 collaboration between them and 3 new ones for each would of course even be better!! ( great fan of Mariusz, Steven and a bit less of Mikael )

They crawl out from the dark Permeate through my door Float in the hallway Slowly blend into the walls In the shadow of my grief I can hear whispered sounds Feel a cold breath on my skin Here they come To assert their rights The fear is what I need, what I need to believe The fear is what I need, what I need to feel And so I dragged myself Into this gutter of mine Where shades of prey Feed on my soul I crave to commit my words To the book of stifled cries I fell down so long ago I don’t remember now The fear is what I need, what I need to believe The fear is what I need, what I need to feel And so I dragged myself Into this gutter of mine Where shades of prey Feed on my soul

Ahhhhh! During the bridge in the middle and @6:51, I always have the same feeling...that's I'm flying down the Autobahn in a silver McLaren 720S going 120 m.p.h. with aviator glasses on, my hair flying in the wind and a HUGE super happy smile on my face! I have that vision EVERY time I listen to this song. :D Luv it!

These were the offers of this ancient wild world: live, share, take care, have fun and live together. Unfortunately, we were so focused on the change of era that we did not have the time or the awareness to organize us. We looked at the world as a rocket in the sky and gave caution to journalists politics and operettas’ musicians to free us. However the spirit is still there, waiting to be recognized and conscious again and again until it is everywhere in elevation to the Paradise of Utopians and other unconscious dreamers 🌠🕊️
