“I don’t want you to be scared. You’ve got this, and I’ve got your back.” You literally made me tear up tonight. Thank you for just continuing to be “you”, Noreen.

Amazingly kind message of reassurance I wasn't expecting and truly touched my heart - I think I've ignored recognizing any fear since Mama's gotta be the rock but yeah, you nearly brought a year to my eye! Thank you for acknowledging things but also being the little voice in all our heads but in real life!!! ♥️♥️♥️

I made this today...absolutely delicious, I had canned chicken, but I opted for some frozen chicken breasts I had. Thankfully my pantry/fridge/freezer is stocked to the brim at this time....but I know so so many people aren't able to have that, therefore we are so thankful for YOU at a time like this. Thank you for sharing. I would LOVE to see more recipes using pantry staples.

Noreen, that looks delish. Presented like a TV dinner, but made from scratch! Sometimes what I like to do is pour some chicken gravy right on the stuffing. Thanks for this simple but delicious pantry meal. I will definitely be making this!

That looks wonderful. We have had rain almost everyday this week. We are dropping into the low 40's tonight. I think it would be great for rainy, chilly days as well.

Since we are on a sodium restricted diet, home-made gravy or DIY Cream of Something Soup Mix that stays on our pantry shelves. A quick roux + Soup Mix combined with water or chicken broth to give desired thickness of gravy, then continue with your recipe. Canned chicken (both home & commercial), canned mushrooms, etc are also pantry staples. Great point about adding mixed vegetables (frozen or no salt added canned), if available. Extend the chicken even further by adding pasta/noodles, if out of instant potatoes. Thumbs up on adding something green to the plate. Thanks for sharing. God Bless.

Noreen, if I have it, I will use canned chicken broth instead of water in mashed potatoes and I will used canned milk if I don’t have fresh. When all else isn’t available, I use a chicken boullion cube with water and milk.

I keep some of those tiny sweetened condensed milk cans (Dollar Tree) on my pantry shelf. When appropriate, use part of one of those in a recipe. Better than opening a larger one and ending up throwing the unused portion away. Substitute it for regular canned milk, if the sweetness doesn't negatively affect a recipe, too much. Often, when used in small amounts, the "sweetness" isn't noticed. Canned milk, for everything, was the norm when I grew up on a farm, in the 1950's+) We had fresh milk, from time to time, depending on how long it had been since our cow(s) had a calf. When the cow was dry, evaporated milk was the alternative. In many circumstances, it was actually better than fresh milk.

If your children were hungry and all you had was what was in your pantry this meal would feed them. I hope you always have enough that you never have to wonder how you will feed the people that you care about.
