I love that Lord of the Rings movie. I saw it in the theater when it was released. The Ringwraiths were really cool. I always wanted a part 2 to be done! Of course the Peter Jackson trilogy isa game changer! Cool book pick up.

By the way that comic at 16:55 you can use a straight razor blade to get that price tag off just go super slow up and down I removed a lot of them without damaging the books.

I have to tell you that when I was in elementary school 1980, 81, they had I believe 16mm film version of LoTR, and both Rankin-Bass cartoons of Hobbit, and Return. Once a year, we got to watch all three, projected in class. Actual film reels and a projector 📽️. Long before VCRs were commonplace. 😮😮

Ah Madame Xanadu! I have just started to hunt for that series. The story by Matt Wagner caught my eye and I heard about the artist Amy Reader Hadley recently which sent me on the hunt for sure! Looks like this was a great place to hunt! Nice pickups Mike!

Congrats on the Two-In One! I recently completed that run. As a huge FF/Thing fan, this is a must buy series that's not too hard to complete. :) That was a really neat store. I wish there were things like that in my area (Memphis). I'm thankful we do have a few comic stores and several cons here though.

I am chasing every Darwyn Cooke cover, it’s my current obsession. Ben has great taste because Darwyn was an absolute modern master. His design sense, timeless style, and writing chops put him head and shoulders above any other modern creator in my book. Gone too soon!

I love Darwyn Cooke. He left us too soon. I only have issue 1 of his run on The Spirit, but he also did a one-shot crossover with The Spirit and Batman. I also love his Justice League story. So many great grabs here, but I'm giving top place to The Lord of the Rings. I love the books, the Peter Jackson films, and I'll admit it, I really dig the animated film. So cool, Mike.

Currently collecting Darwyn Cooke variant covers which DC had back in 2016. Had a few back then of what I was buying at the time. He came to Montreal Comic Con and signed a few for me. A few months later, he passed away. And believe it or not, I actually saw the LOTR animated movie when it was released in theaters. Yeah I'm ancient. I don't remember the film much in detail but I still recognize that movie poster.

Great to see Marvel's Kull The Destroyer #1 graded. Madame Xanadu by Matt Wagner and Amy Reeder is a fantastic series that deserved to have lasted much longer than it did. How could you not get the issue of Combat on JFK's story as commander of the PT 109. Incidentally, his daughter Caroline is about to finish her time here as US ambassador to Australia and she has been a great ambassador. Rich Buckler's Luther Manning Deathlok stories from Astonishing Tales are superb, they really need an Epic Collection from Marvel. Rank and Bass, names that evoke wonderful childhood memories. Anything Steranko: every day, all the time.
