Pulling for a Luocha, and already having a Luocha are two very different things. I do agree that pulling for a Luocha is not that great of a decision now, but having a Luocha is way different, if you have a Luocha you really don't have to worry about your team dying, other than the elites and bosses that can one shot you.

As someone who has both Fu and Luocha I have to disagree. Luocha teams are a lot more likely to having someone die then Fu teams are. The problem with him is that you cant build him better to increase his sustain, like you can with Gepard (faster, stronger shields) or Fu (more health/damage reduction). So Luocha has some very real limits to what we can sustain.

​@@maingrader4434 not really, luocha is actually make it harder to clear moc 12 now. He is struggling to sustain against Sam if your dps can't break him or kill him fast enough. If you're a f2p why pull for luocha when aventurine is right around the corner that can literally sustain every single content way easier. Dude is literally god tier in moc, pf and moc.

overall value and pull value are two very different things, I think it's fair to say that Luocha's current pull value is not very high given the competition (although Pokke's 0 rating seemed exaggerated to me), and it seems to me that people focus too much on this and end up making it seem like he's a garbage character when it's absolutely false

As a limited 5 star when scaling him based on limited 5 star sustains he just seems the worst . There is a argument on how you should grade characters. Lynx as a free unit 4 star vs luocha as a limited 5 star. Also unlike jingyuan i cant see luocha getting better with time only worst

@@thefearturkey6944 Lynx also has low energy ult (very good up time) and it's team wide cleanse on demand. Also decent player barely ever need to use her E, unless someone is so close to dying or you just wanna taunt with your Clara/Blade. Plus end game people are eventually gonna make their sustainers near highest speed on the team if not the highest, thus Luocha being positive sp is overrated over-selling point as hell.

​​ to be fair, once you reach a point where you have enough characters to build competent teams & clear content, just pulling on what you like is bound to contribute fine. not like you're competing against anyone to keep up, & maybe missing 1 or 2 stars in MoC or PF won't kill anyone (though personally have been able to full clear MoC for months now, even w/out any DoT characters built; missing one star this PF, but it's whatever). i pulled luocha + his lc just to add to the anime men collection lol.

As a day one player and a Luocha user i wouldn't recommend pulling for any character during their rerun. Now speaking of Luocha as a sustainer character, he is definitely a top tier "healer". When most of us pulled for Luocha during his original release we didn't know what the path of the sustain meta was going to be. And there were only two healers back in the day. Natasha and Bailu. I can still say that to this day I don't regret pulling for Luocha. The only other sustain I have pulled for is Huohuo (for my Jingliu team). These two characters... Luocha and HuoHuo have helped me clear every content in the game. Now if someone says their team dies even with a Luocha and so he is bad then its genuinely a skill issue. Get better relics and stats. And the 4* healers don't even come close to Luocha's healing. Not E6 Lynx nor Gallagher with E12 eidolons. What is this cope 😂 TLDR; For the day one players Luocha is still that top tier sustain and those who have him will still use him. For the new players, there's better sustains out right now. Before there weren't. So in short don't pull for Luocha during his rerun.

Exactly this. I still use Luocha for MoC till this day since 1.1 and he does fine. He's good if you already have him bit there isn't much reason to get him now when Aventurine is less than two weeks away

Yeah basically, I only pulled JY during his rerun to have every character, otherwise I'd not pull him when every new dps coming out is likely better damage wise and ease of use. Loucha same thing, he's not bad but every new option is just plain better, he has no real identity when enemies hardly every have buffs that you can actually remove and definitely not multiple at a time. He was essentially made to be sold when mara struck soldiers were annoying with revive/healing the general, otherwise what does his ult really even do? lmao

i do agree that in terms of safe resource spending, reruns are not good value. i got him in a cheeky ten pull before getting acheron very early, so in that specific situation, that was a pull well-spent i think. he's pretty damn comfy to use, and he's damn pretty so that's a bonus :D

​@@sleepicatI wouldn't really call the Jingliu rerun mid. This patch is basically the patch of getting the two strongest dps units for newer players. I won't be expecting the same level of powercreep in the upcoming patches. This was HSRs anniversary so ofcourse they were going all out with their Anniversary Headliner and who better to do that than Raiden Mei. Calling Jingliu rerun mid is like saying someone is the poorest billionaire.

Ive played the game since the first lupcha banner, read his kit, knew he would be good. Till this day i still use him cus how sp positive he is. And the fact that he removes the revive from those xianzhou luofu soldiers is HUGE. But again consider who's out now. Just pull for fuxuan or aventurine, those two are probably the easiest sustains to use

I've had Luocha since his first banner, and as much as I love him, I wouldn't recommend him as a pull now either. I'm gonna continue to use him even as he gets powercrept more and more because I love his character and my teams do more than enough damage already, but there are definitely better sustains for people short on jades.

Yeah I agree. I pulled him at the beginning and skipped other sustains so far (probably will be skipping aventurine too although I love him) so he's still the best sustain I have.

Just gotta say, going from Lynx to Luocha, it's a major day and night difference. I no longer have problems with sustaining with heals and Luocha still has a cleanse on his skill. 10/10 would recommend him.

Thank you for being able to think for yourself. All these recommendations against pulling for Luocha on his rerun stem from Acheron hype and 0-cycle brainrot. Sure his value isn't objectively the best in terms of pure min-maxing but his 100% SP-positive playstyle is so nice to work into pretty much any team. I got E6 Gallagher and E1 Luocha from this banner myself (Luocha eidolon came at 27 pity, now he fits even better for my DOT teams, hehe). Now I'll be saving up for HuoHuo's rerun just so I can get her signature light cone to use for Luocha and Gallagher :)

I would never recommend him in this economy. HuoHuo heals almost the same amount and cleanses while also giving Atk and Energy. If you pull for Luocha this day and age, you should at least know that the value you’re getting is far less than the other limited sustainers. He’s still a great sustainer, but he literally only sustains. Lynx may not heal as much, but the fact that she does everything he does while also having a taunt gives her more options than Luocha. Once Aventurine comes out, there will be no teams that Luocha is BiS in, whereas Lynx will always have a use with both Blade and Clara.

Mr Pokke is completely wrong about Welt sustain imo. The point of running Welt sustain is so you can use a harmony character instead of preservation or abundance. Welt sustain means you will do way way more damage than Pela + Silver Wolf. It is also not the same as running no sustain at all because Welt prevents a ton of damage since he can interrupt enemies without even breaking them. So he is not as strong as a full power sustain but he is strong enough to keep you alive for teams that do enough damage. It goes like this 2x Nihility + Fu Xuan/Gepard are the really safe but low damage Acheron teams. Welt + Ruan Mei/Sparkle are the high damage Acheron teams, and then there are the reckless pure offensive teams that go Silver Wolf + Pela + Ruan Mei/Sparkle. It is a gradient of risk vs reward were Welt is in the middle.

So much so that I have Fu Xuan and I don't feel the need to pull for a 2nd limited sustain, I prefer him to Lynx

@@lenfent Look up Sidereum. He does a lot of Welt sustain. Welt sustain is good enough to beat MoC 12 Sam. Sam never even gets to use his ultimate. The popular streamers do not use it much but there is actually a ton of Welt sustain on youtube against all hard content. It works against almost everything. Even if they are not imaginary weak and even if they are imprison resistant.

Preservation characters are way way better than abundance characters and I’m specifically talking about the fact that you can’t get one shotted with preservation characters while with abundance character you still need to build your characters with some survivability

Aventurine is for sure top 2 or top 1 sustain, he can enable the Broken Keel tech which is kinda broken (up to +30%/+40% cdmg for your whole team if Aventurine is E0, or +50%/+60% if E1)

@@sriracha3458 the thing is being able to build Keel even on DPS charcters (specially for topaz + ratio) without needing any effect res substats. Also, we have to consider how much Aventurine brings to the table, as he is the best in terms of sustaining by quite a bit while debuffing, dealing damage and, as a shielder, preventing your team from being one-shotted (which Huohuo and Luocha really can't) while, at the same time, preventing from being f*cked by aoe damage (which, specially for Sim Universe, is Fu Xuan's biggest struggle).

@@kyaotu_flaw i mean yeah i guess if you're dps planars are so bad then yeah i guess keel on them would work but i still would prefer the usual salsotto/rutilant/izumo when u get good pieces as their 2pc set just provides more than a meager 10% cdmg. As for sustaining yeah he prevents oneshots as u could expect from a preservation and better in aoe than FX. But again, i personally just hate getting crowd controlled so 50% effect res ain't gonna cut it. It's most likely why I value HH and FX much more.

Tbh they could easily add a set that converts healing into the SU dewdrop mechanic, sort of like the healing set from genshin, to be able to let sustainers like luocha contribute to team damage in the future. They could do it for shielders too which would work like that one preservation SU mechanic that does damage based on shield value.

You can just build Lynx to be slowest in a Blade, Bronya, Sparkle team and it works. After you do all the action value advancements you can apply her skill so it won’t fall off till you go again.

10:45 Heavily disagree. For Acheron team, that 12% DMG amplification from his Ultimate (actually from his Major Trace) is more than just 'negligible. The 12% DMG amp is a different multiplier according to the Damage Formula, and so far only handful of characters able to provide 'universal DMG amplifier' in Star Rail. On top of amplifying damage, he can delay pretty much almost every enemy (except for few CC immune or Imprison Immune Elite/Boss) in the game regardless of Elemental Weakness. Not to mention his Skill gives 'Slowed' debuff as well, which means he's a strong Nihility pair for Acheron Team. The only issue slotting him is the SP management. I have personally played and tested him in many scenarios, including the E0 and E2 Acheron team. Welt performs really well in his role as pseudo-tank AND debuffer within that team. Acheron | Pela | Welt | Sparkle • Pela with Resolution LC, obviously. Make sure she's faster than Welt. • Welt with HP||SPD||ER||HP + Tutorial LC (for possible 100% Ultimate uptime) That's my recommended variation team for Acheron. Even though I have E2, I still use that particular teamcomps simply because how smooth and 'strong' that team is, especially for mid (2-3 cycles) to long (+4 cycles) battle such as in Pure Fiction.

"Sustaining" for 2-3 cycles in the first half of MOC 12 isn't an issue in general. The real issue is that you want to use Archeron team in the SECOND half of MOC 12. That fight can last for 5-7 cycles. Welt sustain ain't doing a fucking thing against Sam. And also, nobody even needs a sustain in Pure Fiction. Don't know why you even brought that up.

I get the point about how the existence of better characters makes a worse one less valuable--I mean that is the entire point of a tier list and is reflected in the existence of the ratings themselves. But the argument that Luocha doesn't place comfortably in A tier just because better sustains exist doesn't make sense IMO. He's easily an A-tier sustain and has all the merits he's always had; he's excellent if you have him, but probably not worth prioritizing over the S-tier ones. That is what the tiers suggest and how people should interpret it. I can understand wanting to explicitly caution players against pulling Luocha--as he's dropped in value compared to more recent sustains. But we shouldn’t (IMO) disregard the point of a tier list just to send a personal message. Putting Luocha in A tier isn't somehow going to make someone pull him over Fu Xuan, Hue Hue, or Aventurine--unless they were already planning to regardless. Tier lists are supposed to be approached objectively, and, in that regard, I think Brax did a great job with his list. What I'm trying to say is that while characters should be regarded in comparison to others in a similar class, they should also be considered based on their own merits--otherwise the tier list just doesn't work.

My Luocha is E2 so he gives individual shields to those he heals that is above 50% hp and 20% atk bonus for the team when his field is up so that's part of why I haven't had any qualms with my Luocha. Tbf I get that these tierlists were done at E0 tho

The part that sucks tho, is that newer units keep getting better and better edlions over older units. Like Loucha e1 is dogwater, genuinely awful. His e5 and e3 are awful as well because he does no damage and already heals. Sustainer with a dmg buff gets more damage from a trace level increase, so edlions objecivilty just improve better sustainers more. Characters lile ruan mei, black swan, kafka, fu xuan, get game changing e1's. Dhil, Acheron, selee gets game changing e2's. Where as Loucha gets a slight boost. Even if you do include edilions Loucha would still be the same because newer sustains just have better edilions. E1 loucha gives a negliable atk buff which is the worse of all buff types and in such a small percantage, it's so bad any is like 1% team wide dps boost. E1 fu xuan gives a team wide 30% crit dmg buff. The power gap between edlions is huge and it'll only get worse as Honkai Star Rail seems to be taking a very power creepy way of releasing new units.

​​​@@uyeah1234 all these complaints, yet you can still beat things like MoC12 with units like bailu. & you don't get additional rewards for clears faster than 10. if you're trying to "future proof" an account, chances are people are gonna have pulled on & built a bunch of other strong units in the future anyway. units we have right now suffice perfectly fine for the content we've had so far, & power creep really doesn't matter in a game with no leaderboards or pvp lol. it took me some months to collect a good number/collection of units to feel confident in challenging forbidden hall. oh noooo i missed a bunch of jades! womp womp. whatever. was still able to pull on most of the units i wanted regardless.

Calling loucha bad now is mad lvls of cap. telling people to not pull loucha now is somewhat acceptable as an advice purely if u have other sustains and/or planning to get a more synergistic sustain in the future for a certain playstyle like follow up (aventurine) but if u have no follow up units and have no solo sustains on ur account, to be told not to pull loucha cause he's now "bad" is disingenuous af. Not to mention there are units that would rather have loucha than the other 2 aka blade and dhil. Pull value is different from actual character strength. Sparkle is one of strongest units in the game who has little to no pull value for dot comps. Same principle applies to sustains. It's all dependent on ur account and what content ur against.

I’ve actually been running gepard in +12 purples you get from leveling your trailblazer level xD. I also run def rope on him because he’s not a priority for farming gear. He literally has 93 speed lol. And tbh I’ve cleared all content with gepard as my sustain with ease. I’ve had no issue with shield uptime outside of seele / JL stuff. And if you accidentally get his e1, he can reliably freeze elites with high dmg st targeting abilities. Considering how low aventurine dmg looks , idk if it’ll make much of a difference to put him a tier ahead of gepard. You’re likely to clear in the same amount of cycles in most cases.

A well built Aventurine can act as a sub dps as well as top tier sustain. So many enemies have aoe attacks that it is easy to proc his fua if you position him between your supports with dps on the far end. Plus if you get his sig, then with his sig effect with his ult, he can somewhat act as a sub nihility especially for Dr. Ratio or Acheron teams.

I really wanna build my Gallagher after the 2.1 story. Every sustain character has some kind of niche and Gallagher's niche is buffing break dmg. We have a break effect harmony and now also a sustain but we are yet to get a break effect dps. So in the future when we finally get a break dps, Gallagher's value might go up... I hope.

As a f2p person who won three 50/50 in a row(Acheron,Luocha, Acheron) and DHIL on my sister's account, I can confidently say that pulling luocha=good fortune because I got e1 acheron and e0 luocha while pulling for e4 pela. i somehow managed to get more 5 stars than pelas in the banner Edit: On a serious note tho, since luocha has the Effect res healing bonus 4 star light cone he is a very good character to run on broken keel to give the teammates more crit dmg since he instantly gets enough effect res from the lightcone itself to activate the set bonus. If you run him on Penacony land of dreams as well for either a mono imaginary, welt, dr ratio or DHIL hypercarry to get more dmg bonus on them and to have less issues with CC enemies and skill points, like I was literally using dr ratio, pela, sparkle and luocha and I never ran out of skill points just normal attacking with luocha and pela even without sparkle's ult and luocha prevented all of the stupid mara enemies from rising from the dead to haunt my gameplay and gives me less of a reason to use pela skill(since not e4) since luocha ult is basically pela skill on crack since its aoe and breaks imaginary shields pretty well

I already have Loucha, and he is best support for Blade. Blade helps Loucha get his ult up all the time as well. His ult can be great because it can AOE break the entire team if they have imaginary weakness. With Ruan Mei, that break slows the enemy down more, as they get hit by the double break. He is also skill point efficient, so that is important to consider as well.

Just started at sparkle banner and i never regretted pulling for luocha. I just doesnt have the patient to use natasha on contents and luocha heals tons more than natasha. My initial plan is to lose the 50/50 to get gepard or bailu for sustain and save for adventurine but in the end i won my 50/50 and he helps me clear with the earlier sim uni, g&g, and swarm comfortably. The thing you have to remember about luocha is that he works well for 2 of the 3 best units in the game. For inhibitor lunae he is more skill point efficient than huohuo or fu xuan and when u are required to constantly skill with ur sustain his damage output gets gutted in drawn out fights. Even with sparkle u will miss out on one or two max basic attacks. For Jingliu u could argue that fu xuan and huohuo are better but having his talent cancel out the damage jingliu does to her team is still really valuable. In general I still think luocha deserves a spot as one of the best sustains just due to the value he brings to skill point heavy hypercarry teams as pretty much the only skill point positive sustain.

His leaked kit basically has Pela defense shred on skill, built in universal market and has a heal on ult. His leaked lightcone has battery for energy regain. The question is how strong is the heal going to be. There is no point healing if you're already dead. In this sense, Luocha doesn't age well because enemies are hitting harder and harder. In Pure Fiction, you might not even need a healer at all. Hence, pure healers that can't do anything beyond healing will fall off hard as the content gets harder.

luocha may not have any offensive util, but i'll be honest when i say that when i want absolute confort in my teams, i slap him on. there's nothing like a luocha in that regard. it's sooo cozy. to me, notably cozier than fu xuan, especially against enemies like sam or the girl who takes your max hp.

his value is drop the moment when he is not the only one who could remove buff ..... cough .....4star pela which make his signature move is the auto healing im not going to suprise if boss like sam having 100%hp revive buff pela is going to be a better choice for that either way

Yeah, because the most enemy mob did not have buff, only bosses who have buff, so having multiple dispell on the enemy are quite useless, even some bosses buff cannot be remove
