What's the best boot in that $200 price range? Watch to see my opinion.

I’m getting the Thursday hero boot in waxed cacao for winter. It’s a wider round toe boot.

Ive had that boot in my cart online and almost got it. Let me know how you like them.

I also started the boot thing with a pair of Thursdays, and now have two pair. More recently I tried the Luos Jiet brand and have an "Indy", a "Paratroop", and a "Service Boot" from their offerings. I can echo the same comments you made here about the differences in materials, exchange/return options, etc. If I were required to buy a pair of $200 boots today, I would look to these two makers. Thursday has many more options at this point, but the Luos Jiet boots look and feel "nicer" to me. For what it's worth, people comment on my Luos Jiet Indy boots and no one seems to notice my Thursday Captain or President... Both brands pretty nice for the price, I think.

I'd save up and get some parkhurts, grant stone, truman ect, i started with thursday and they just dont hold up that well and the leather is just thin and doesn't age as nicely.
@edhcb9359Ай бұрын
@@sunnyrachelsson3169Nothing against those other brands because they are great, but my Thursday boots have held up super well over the course of a year including rain, snow, endless marches through airports, etc so I’m wondering what you did to yours that they didn’t hold up? Did you use them as work boots doing construction or something?
@sunnyrachelsson3169Ай бұрын
@edhcb9359 i Just wore them, did some hikes and walks on the beach, so nothing to crazy.
@edhcb9359Ай бұрын
@ I can see where they wouldn’t hold up in aggressive terrain like that and like the other brands you mentioned also probably aren’t a great choice in terms of grip and comfort as compared to an actual hiking boot.

I was looking forward to this review. I own Thursdays, would like to order Luosjiet and seeing your comparison, hoped to hear how they both compare in sizing. I like wider shoes, so after having watched your previous Luosjiet related videos, I believe I should be more than fine. Just may you please add your two cents on the sizing, when based on Thursdays? Thank you very much!
@YouShoe-19854 ай бұрын
@@raiderofthelostark no problem! I believe the 46 in LJ is the same as Thursdays 12.5 but the Indiana Jones boots are an E width so they are wider than Thursdays.

The Thursday diplomat is definitely a narrower boot. It’s the only boot I ever bought that legit hurt to break in. That’s crazy considering I have broken in redwings and Nicks.
@davids82676 ай бұрын
If the boot is too narrow you’re not breaking in the boot you are damaging your foot.
@Brajin16 ай бұрын
@@davids8267 it broke in fine. But it took almost a month of wear.

Bought the LJ after seeing your video. Got the Indy version. They are so thick that the break in seems almost impossible. They cut my shins so bad. Need 2 pairs of thick socks to wear. Also, bought 1/2 size down but need a full size down as you can’t tighten the laces very well. Your experience? Was ready to send back but cost was $50 plus to return
@YouShoe-19856 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! As I mentioned on my 2nd update for the Indiana jones boots I do think the leather at the shins is hard to break in but once it is broken in I don’t feel it at all. As for sizing if you do feel it’s big get yourself an insole to fill the space. On my update of their service boot I mentioned to size down more than recommended but that has some risks also. You did the safe method with just a half a size so you may need to fill extra space with an insole. You can even get yourself a leather insole to have a little more support.

thursdays leathers both in options and quality still seems better. not a huge fan of lusojiet leathers, but they are pretty new, hope they find some further suppliers and ram thing up a bit.

First they came for Clinch, then they came for Alden, and now Red Wing. Clinch Yeager boots are obviously very expensive and I did buy the LJ version because I wanted to try the style to make sure I like it at 1/3 the price (I did eventually get the real deal because I dig it). I can say they did a very good copy of the Clinch. The last being the biggest difference because I was able to get it in a very nice Japanese Tochigi leather at the time. The Alden Indy is overpriced as a $600 something boot, but it’s not hard to find them in the low $400 for new or near new condition. And they are a solid boot at that price point. Alden lasts are very good and comfortable when you get your size dialed in. But then they came for Red Wing, and I hate seeing that. The price difference makes the value prop go away and they are eating the lunch of one of the most honest American brands I can think of, which is a bridge too far for me personally. I know it’s their business model to copy what’s popular, but I just don’t abide.

I would also reccomend red wing as i found 4 pairs my size in months tine from MPorter for 40-50 off and not seconds. Could you please comment how much better alden indy fit of arch is compared to lousjiet, in other videos comments are but pretty short or you ser ni value in alden indy arch support?
@YouShoe-19856 ай бұрын
@@jseskausk your right. The Indy boot has great arch support because of that true balance last. IMO if you get the correct size with Luosjiet the arch support is adequate but my first pair was to large and it didn’t have the support so I put inserts in and it corrected it.
