Precious Things is dope. A whole song about his hands with nothing but hand references. Dude is built different.

Damn, you caught the caged animal metaphor/scheme ("bite the hand that feeds...") on first listen. Btw, Lupe continues the scheme near the end of that verse with the bar about the rabbit lure and even later. The thing about this scheme that no one has mentioned is that in Precious Things, Lupe is scheming on hands the whole way through which is amazing in itself, but it also means that Lupe does two schemes simultaneously in the first verse. The hands scheme and the caged animal scheme. He double scheme/metaphored the whole first verse. TELL ME WHO ELSE IS DOING THAT SO FLUIDLY AND MASTERFULLY? WHO?

Once I researched the subject matter and words in Drill Music In Zion it's my favorite song on the album as of right now. It's a warning. Don't let them drill down to corrupt your Zion inside. So damn good. Lupe is dope af.

In Precious Things Lupe puts things in perspective with the last line about how the music executives don't utilize young black youths (their hands) to write rhymes anymore but need them to be the face of the message on mainstream music which is to continually perpetuate harmful black stereotypes. Therefore rappers now act out (their hands betray what they should be doing and not what executives want)

I'm gonna go out on the limb and say this album is a masterpiece and I personally put it at the table with Illmatic in my opinion the GREATEST hiphop album ever. I'm 45 yrs old and I still love hiphop like I did when I fell in love with it back in 85'. Somebody tell me differently

Right now my favorite songs are Naomi and Seattle. But it's been changing since it dropped. On Faux (pronounced fo) Nem was my 1st favorite. Also Ghoti (pronounced fish) is up there. Ms. Mural spent some time at #1 too. Really the album is brilliant.

I've been looking for origins of the titles, Ghoti is fish and I haven't found Seattle's meaning yet but here's NAOMIs biblically good, pleasant, lovely, winsome oʊmaɪ/, colloquially /neɪˈoʊmi, ˈneɪ. oʊmi/; Hebrew: נָעֳמִי, Modern: Naʻomī, Tiberian: Nā'omī) is Ruth's mother-in-law in the Hebrew Bible in the Book of Ruth. The etymology of her name is not certain, but it is possible that it means "good, pleasant, lovely, winsome.

Naomi is also in reference to Naomi Osaka. (Even jesus Christ took a knife for the team, so SWING). Only reason that is even a thought is Lupe himself tweeted a picture of Naomi Osaka in reply to someone who said they liked the song
