Funfact: My boyfriend was incredibly impressed with the accuracy they give to the vehicles in this movie given the time era it's set it. They put actual research into these machines and made them accurate to their realistic counterpart (though the guns aren't always as accurate with reloading, that's because of the sake of visuals). So it's not just amazing animation and all, but it's ACCURATE too!! :D

Watched this last night. It made me so happy. So beautiful and light. Even though it's a very simple story, the characters, pacing, and animation are very absorbing. It's over all too quickly.

CGI in this film was honestly god tier (flows even better than in the trailer). Score was amazing too. The older films have their charm and place in history, but Lupin III: The First is everything it should be for a modern-day adaptation.

The Castle of Cagliostro is currently on Netflix if that is a available means. Also episodes of Lupin get uploaded to YT from time to time if you look around. @rgc80 gm cannon, Luckily for you, Lupin III has no major continuity and is mainly episodic, meaning you could start in any story you want and still be able to get it. As for where to start, probably something like Lupin III Part II or even Part IV is a good way to go. If you want a movie, probably the Mystery of Mamo and the Castle of Cagliostro would be nice. That’s just my thoughts, but in the end, it’s your choice. Enjoy!

The Mystery of Mamo (also known as the Secret of Mamo) 2. The Castle of Cagliostro 3. The Legend of the Gold of Babylon 4. Farewell to Nostradamus 5. Lupin III: Dead or Alive 6. Lupin III VS Detective Conan: The Movie 7. Daisuke Jigen’s Gravestone 8. Goemon Ishikawa’s Spray of Blood 9. Fujiko Mine’s Lie 10. Lupin III: The First Note: Actually, Jigen’s Gravestone, Goemon’s Spray of Blood, and Fujiko’s Lie MUST be watched in that order, since they do have continuity. The order of watching the rest though are your choice.

@@absolutefool9577 it really is. It doesn't really have the same stereotypical voices that ALL anime has. You know the ones. For males its either monotone or grunts alot. And for females it's either high pitched and whiny or again monotone. Why is it like this? It is because funi does most eng dubs and only hires like 20 people for everything? The world may never know. Long story short; Jigen and Zenigata. Those two alone make the dub worth it. Protip for new lupin viewers: If the funi logo shows up, watch the subs. Unless you want to watch krillin as lupin and piccolo as Jigen lol it's trash compared the the glorious part 2 dub.

I know this is supposed to be the language it's originally in but the 3D aspect of it all makes it feel like it's dubbed even though the mouth movements fit the JP voicelines. I saw a clip of this in ENG Dub and realized immediately how the voice acting sounded MUCH different to that of an actual English film, which is why I searched for the original dub instead
