Great video & awesome callop Robbie 👌🏻 All my silver perch via lures have come from using spinners like what you caught this callop on & on small 50mm or under floating hard body lures. The only catfish I've caught on lure have been natural match the hatch soft plastics & only in summer during breeding season. Looking forward to seeing your next lure fishing video at this great location. I hope your Sciatica isn't giving you as much grief & your recovering well. I've suffered from Sciatica on & off for the last 14 years with multiple slipped discs & I can tell you that the pain doesn't get any more tolerable unfortunately but regular exercise like Pilates does help.

Thanks so much Dave. It certainly is a horrible thing mate. But then again, there are worse things to be diagnosed with. I have friends my age with stage 4 cancer which really puts my sciatica problem into perspective.

Yep, yellas do take a spinner! I got my best ever on at Eildon on a stump jumper! He went 50 cm and was in the box for my Grandad. He loved eating yellas! Sadly passed now. Love your vids...if only I could get out fishing that much 😞
@GregoryMurphy-b4vАй бұрын
Stumpjumper is not quite a spinner.Its classified as a hardbodied lure.A Spinner consists of a metal blade that rotates around the body of the lure .Hence its name Spinner.

That's awesome, well done mate. I am very lucky to go fishing as often as I do. Well actually, luck had nothing to do with it. I have worked very hard to be where I am in life. I would give anything to be able to fish with my grandfather again mate. Or even just talk to him again. What a beautiful man he was.

@AndrewFishmanАй бұрын
@@TobysfishingNoutdoors Weeeell. Depends on the time of year. At the moment, only the light rod. When I start hitting up the carp and cod, then I start to build the collection a bit. The 4 lb is plenty for yebblies and trout until I hit Googong, then the bigger Yebblies get a 3 kilo or 4 kilo. The really big carp and decent cod, well, they are a lot easier on the heavy gear.

Awesome video again Robbie! I just wanted to know if you have thought of a chest mounted camera for lure fishing, I reckon it would be a great vantage point to see the skill imparted on the lure for getting strikes. I reckon we would see more of what you are doing to the lure if you mounted the camera to your chest. Thanks again!

Yep he was quite a bit bigger than you thought, need a bigger net! Only time I've seen catfish take a lure is if it goes buzzing right through their nesting area they will bite it. Mind you they'll bite people going near those too so they can get fairly cranky at times
