Big winter Redfin, otherwise known as Perch were the target species, and trout were the welcome by-catch. It was great to catch both redfin and trout on lures, and was well worth getting cold hands for on such a glorious day in winter.

If you want to catch an absolute monster, or at least try take a tub of worms and head for lake sambell in beechworth or the Stanley ditch dam. Anyway thanks Robbie for the video have a good one.

Gday Robbie, We were there last weekend and had the same friendly bird. He followed us everywhere, My kids named him Tubby. He actually answers back to your bird calls. What a beautiful day you had with your dad!

Love the opening conversation on the boat when your Dad said he might chase some rabbits later….I still enjoy the old “slow cooked” rabbit and am fortunate of having a son in law who hunts and ensures I am kept in venison and “underground mutton”….great session again Robbie.

Any days fishing with your Old Man is a great days fishing. My Old Man is 82 and taught me most of my fishing skills... On good days I cam take him out to wet a line. Do it whilst you can Robbie....My Old Man slowed down very quickly from what he was. Now I take him fishing.......and help him out. Still great times though.

Good entertainment once again Robbie. I still enjoy seeing fish caught, even if they are thrown back. Love the Magpie at the start. It was a very young bird as it still did not have ‘jet black’ feathers. Unusual for a young bird without life’s experience to be so tame.

Looked like a great trip with great weather. The video does seem to hide the cold but over there that time of the year I bet it is cold but it looked like you were lucky with a pretty calm day. The photos of the fish look really good and something I need to improve on

Great video Robbie. I took the kids out to a lake over the weekend fishing was slow until i stopped on top of a school of Redfin then after teaching the kids how to use blades i was then the person to unhook fisj after fish lol

Old mate The Ginger Fisherman figured out how to get a signal back from his GoPro underwater live (using some co-ax and duct tape) so he could watch the action at his bait as it happens.

Hi Robbie, looks like it was a nice day to be on the water, and a nice reddy too. I watch a lot of KZbin (probably too much) and have noticed unlike most you tubers you don’t ask for a like and a subscribe during your videos, is there a reason for that.

Thanks Bruce. It was a magnificent day. Occasionally I will ask at the end of the video, but not often. I think that most people know by now how to subscribe to channels they like. Also, the way KZbin works it recommends videos to people that watch them anyway. So even people that don't subscribe, if they watch my videos they will just get them served up anyway. Haha

Thanks mate. Redfin eat them when they're really small but by this size it's only the birds that way them. Downstream and in other lakes Murray cod will eat them.
