Yahoo its Phil. Spot on Phil you make my day when a video comes out with you in. I'm after some new waders atm. The lightweight fox ones have caught my eye.

Thank you kindly 😊 The tracker N2 waders are also worth looking at, I've used them myself and been happy with them. Regards Phil, www.anglingdirect.co.uk/trakker-n2-chest-waders?queryID=f1a57cf793ac1b555ac142ea5b1f082e&objectID=54029&indexName=live_ad_uk_products

This is something I really want to get into soon, I've got an 8ft Ron Thompson spin rod 10-30g, I know what sort of lures/spinners to use, but just need an OK reel and braid to start off with.

Hi Paul, lightweight lure fishing for perch is such great fun. There's lots of small fixed spool reels to choose from, Daiwa Ninja LT are fantastic particularly in the 2000 and 3000 size. Braid choice is important, keep to a low diameter something around 0.10mm which is normally around 10lb breaking strain. www.anglingdirect.co.uk/daiwa-18-ninja-lt-reel?queryID=40d3228fb10d4525dd1917f37d6ea2f8&objectID=73497&indexName=live_ad_uk_products www.anglingdirect.co.uk/savage-gear-hd8-silencer-braid?queryID=f0bb3ece42759dd9442de93fa90f192a&objectID=54547&indexName=live_ad_uk_products I've added a couple of links to products I'd recommend ⬆️ Regards Phil,

So what’s the difference between a drop shot rod, a ned rod or a light spinning rod? With the drop shot being a sensitive finesse technique that only requires small lures why is it necessary to have a casting weight of over 20g
@AnglingDirectTV9 күн бұрын
A drop shod rod will often have a softer tip section for feeling very gentle bites. A ned rod will be slightly faster action to help impart more action into the lure with only slight rod movements. For me personally I like a slightly heavier drop shot rod as I fish deep tidal rivers and big wind swept reservoirs. If the rod is too soft you will struggle to impart much action into the lure on those types of venues, plus I sometimes need 15-20 gram drop shot weights to stay in touch with the lure. If you fish marinas, canals, small lakes and smaller rivers a light drop shot rod can make catching even smaller perch great sport 👌 Hope that makes sense? Tight lines Phil,

@ That’s great thanks Phil. As I’ve just started lure fishing in the last few months I was only considering it from my perspective. I’ve been fishing the Oxford canal but that’s makes complete sense if you are fishing deeper or fast flowing water. So I could fish the canal with a light lure rod that isn’t a specific drop shot rod as long as it had a sensitive tip? But it would need to handle larger Pike as I was lucky enough to hook a 100cm fish over the Xmas break on my 5-25g Maver Jurassic X spinning rod. Thanks again. Tim
