Great content, I subscribed a while back but not watched much till now. Seem like a polite, intelligent nice chap which is hard to come by on KZbin with the exception of graeme pullen from TA. Great vids, keep 'em coming 👍

Love your uncomplicated and minimal tackle approach, have you tried fly fishing large dry fly with a small nymph/wet fly tied to the bend in the dry fly. The dry fly acts as a float, also as additional lure.👍

Hi Earle, thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! I haven't tried that yet, I will definitely give it a try. I've seen a few videos on KZbin that show this method! 👍

I tried this a couple of years ago with limited success, I caught Chub, Roach, Perch, Bleak, Ruffe and a Bullhead. All I used was a small hook with a split shot pinched above it and a small piece of plastic worm. I gave it up eventually because you cannot cast a small split shot much further than the margins. This Float method looks like it would solve this problem and I'm going to give it another go.

Hi Mark, nice to hear from you 👍 that sounds like it will definitely work! I've been working on a few budget solutions myself. I'll try and do a video! 👍😃

Where do you fish on the Darent? I live in Dartford and wanna fish small streams and rivers.

Hi buddy While kick sampling with the Thames Anglers Conservacy members on a Thames trib we caught a large Bullhead with a Baby Dace in its mouth, All fish eat baby fish.

Oh wow! What a fascinating study that must have been! I guess I sort of knew that all fish will eat smaller fish, I guess some are just considered "the predators" thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! 😃👍🎣

What about a normal hook with a shot slid right down to the eye? And i've bought the cheap 'strike indicator' floats off amazon. If you drill them out a tiny bit you can squeeze a bit of biro tube in there.

Great tips mate! Sounds great 👌 I shall give it a go! 😃👍🎣 thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! 😁

Interesting way of lure fishing. You could use small Hook and a split shot above it.

Perhaps you could return with a 3 to 5wt fly rod and some 'Buzzers' that are epoxy bodied wet flies, you will have a ton of fun with the Rudd. Rudd are quite often sought after on the fly, as are Chub

Thanks Baz, great tip I've recently purchased a 3 weight rod, and found it to be brilliant! 😃👍I can't wait to target some other species! Thanks again for watching and commenting! 🎣

Excellent video . Ive got loads of trout magnet kits . Also got the crappie kits and tiny creature ones . I bought them a while back . Im in London . Check out TroutMagnetMan on youtube . Randy is a legend and he doesnt use a float with them . Im sure you could get a cheap AliExpress Ultra light rod to fish with them without the float . Maybe a future video for you .

Literally was using the same method this week, but with far less success. I tried catching trout on the Wandle, sadlly on had two bites and missed both. You should try the same method with your recently made fly. I was using some cheap flies and caught chub in error. They are hard to avoid, being the greedy buggers they are. I have a box full of cheap micro lures I bought a couple of years when still new to fishing. Will try to work out where I got them from, as they are excellent and pretty sure dirt cheap.

It seems they don't made them anymore sorry. It was from THKFISH 121 piece lead crappie jig kit 1-3g. Most being in the 1g and 2g range. Oh well, seems will have to find a new source myself when these eventually run out.

Hey JP no worries! They sound good, I'll have to have little look around for when the River season opens! Glad you've been out and about though. I'll be doing a session down the docks soon. I'll let you know when. 😃🎣👍

@@TheBudgetAngler trout in season on the fly, that's why using the float contraption. Sort of works, certainly not as elegant as an actual fly rod. See you around
@TheBudgetAngler3 жыл бұрын
Oh I see what you mean 👍 yeah it's artificial flies only for trout in the anglia region where I am, I hadn't really thought about using them on a normal rod and reel, and I didn't want to push my luck with the trout magnets! 😆 Had a few little brown trout on some home tied flies this week so hopefully get the video out soon! 👍

@@TheBudgetAngler yes, flies only for the whole South East I think. Flies defo work well. Look forward to your next vid.
