Lure fishing for snapper in the wash from a kayak in NSW Australia 4K - Bugsy Fishing Ep 18

In Episode 18 Bugsy takes us fishing in the wash at shallow inshore reefs in NSW Australia to cast soft plastic jerk shad style lures for snapper at sunset. Bugsy is using a Hobie Revolution 13 kayak to quietly stealth around in the shallow waters, constantly watching his Lowrance Elite FS7 sounder looking for bait and snapper. The lure is a Berkley Gulp 7 inch jerk shad in yakka snak colour with a 1/4oz 5/0 HD TT lures headlockz jig head with a Shimano Stradic FL 5000 reel spooled with 20lb braid and a 20lb fluorocarbon leader. Bugsy is usually fishing Sydney so this mission explores new grounds outside of the Sydney metro area.

I wouldn't do it without a reverse gear that's for sure! And was definitely watching the depth on the sounder like a hawk - trying to stay in 10m plus water. Beautiful fish. Cheers!

Hi Michael, so much fun fishing in the wash! It was the first (and only) time I have fished that spot. The fish seemed to be in the wash and on the edges that afternoon. I was working the lure down the drop offs with big pauses

Hi Danny, I do my best not to name spots to respect the crew who fish them regularly. I used Google Earth to find this spot and drove past that morning to check it out before an afternoon launch

@@bugsyfishing I found the spot by chance did what you said and used google maps and just looked at all the coast line and picked a spot and went there and looks very similar I won’t say the location but the place I went is north of Sydney
