It really depends on your budget and the type of lure fishing you want to do but generally speaking a 5 to 35g casting range, 8ft rod, something like a Savage Gear Bushwacker, is a good start. And match that up with a 2500 to 3000 sized reel, maybe a Penn Pursuit or Daiwa BG.

Hi Mr Slippy.😉 Being a shore angler, I quite fancy having a go at LRF. I'm from Whitley Bay and wonder why you travel so far? are there no local marks around Whitley/Tynemouth etc? also what lures would you recommend? Great vid as always
@SlippyLimpets3 жыл бұрын
Hi, There are a few good places around locally but the problem is finding deep water without a load of kelp at you feet, you'll know from shore angling it's not great when fishing with light gear. You just end up snagged all the time and loose jigs and fish. I also really like fishing in remote places so don't mind the travel part of it. LRF lure wise, you can't go wrong with Berkley Gulp Worms and Isome's, they can be lethal for mini & baby fish. Also small curly tail grubs and a light metal jig can give you the extra distance to get past the kelp. Hope this helps
