Got that book as well , in fact it got me started making wooden lures back during the 1990's , only made metal lures before . Great to finally see some footage of Charlie Bettell , .....but I've heard , that he had sadly passed away a few years ago . If you would not have commented , I might never have come across this great video . Tight lines , 61diemai

You should really do that , looks like a great place for most exciting topwater lure fishing , and it's located not that far from your hometown Cambridge , anyway , .......I sometimes travel comparable distances just for daytrips as well .

Gotta make a version of that "Hawg Wobbler" mentioned as from 4:03 , ....did some googling for it , also found some further footage , looks like it was designed for surface only . Pausing at 4:36 I could see , that Charlie had tapered the nose somewhat more , reduced lip size and mounted the linetie at the nosetip in difference to the original lure to achieve the diving action mentioned , a great version , very fond of topwater and diving action in one lure , gotta get my lathe turning , too !

Not familar , but just googled "Booyah Bait" . Not that common over here yet , these chatterbaits , but I think to have seen some before in a Hamburg tackle shop . Do you constantly retrieve them somewhere in the water column or jig them along the bottom ? Just made one "HawgWobbler" version blank on Sunday , 15cms , probably painting it thru Xmas holiday , but testing it after sealing and first primer coat , eager to see the action . THX for pointing out Booyah , gonna get some occassionally .

.........just by the looks it's really smelling "fishy" there , .......a guide might really save you a couple of "reconnaissance" trips .
