Dude I can binge watch all your videos in one day lol. I don’t have an ounce of artistic creativity in my body, but I want to give this a try.
@TreysArt9 ай бұрын
I believe anyone can be an artist personally. But as far as lure making goes just jump into it. Everybody’s lures aren’t that good at first but you will learn fast especially if you’re watching the KZbin guys making baits. That’s where I’ve learned most of what I know.

Hello, I am an amateur wood carver. Could you please share the measurements and angle degrees you used for the lure? In this way, I can make and test a lure like in the video. Thanks in advance :)
@TreysArt6 ай бұрын
Sorry I don’t have measurements or anyone for this lure. It was just a free hand project. I would go with about a 45 degree for the lip. That should give it a good wobble.

How did it track so well with no weight in the belly? Super nice lure for just burnishing it with a torch like that. Very unique and just, well, pretty.
@TreysArt3 жыл бұрын
I think it was mainly because of how dense the wood was. The action actually wasn’t perfect but even adding 1 gram to it would have made it sink so I just went without any and it turned out ok.
@markrigg66233 жыл бұрын
I've noticed pretty much all American lure makers add lead to the belly. But its only really nessercary if you need to make the lure heavier. Lighter more buoyant lures are perfectly capable of swimming in a straight stable path. Here in Australia traditionally we haven't used lead in the belly routinely.

Did that plexiglass help with hydrodynamics making it move more like a fish? Trying to figure out what purpose it served. Came out great!

Yes it basically interferes with the flow of water causing the lure to have a side to side swim as it moves through the water.
