The minute someone asks u to help them when they see ur gear is already a red flag. I remember the very first time I got scammed, brought a whip to the Wildy for his “fake pk vid” and I thought I’d be safe since I don’t skull or anything. He poked me to low health with a dragon dagger no poison. Then he dropped 4 noted mystic robe tops. He didn’t tell me he dropped it so my dumbass picked it up and he spec’d me out. I remember me just spawning in fally with 4 noted tops and I stood up so fast my computer chair rolled back. The funny thing is I was like 12 years old so that was a good learning experience 😭

Lmao so sorry you had to go through that mate 😒 I got lured for a minuscule amount one day when I was borrowing my friends party hat, and because I switched from my full bandos set to my full dharok set instead (in fear of losing more money, they were luring me into the dangerous free for all portal) and afterwards they ended up sending me threats and then hitting me offline... I was afraid to play runescape, I was 14, and some stranger I didnt know disabled the internet my dad was paying for... fast forward 8 months later, I try to get back into my account and my account is being used to bot green dragons, and my entire bank was wiped. Cant help but think it was related to the lurers

That guy should’ve reported the chat logs to the authorities in conjunction with Jagex. They were specifically targeting the gf with her actual name and address which pushes it onto the side of being illegal. They could easily charge them with cyber blackmail if Jagex were to assist them track the people down.

If someone threatens you like this, call the police (not emergency lines), inform them you been targeted for potential swatting/false reports, show them screen shots/audio recordings and keep your friends and family informed on the situation as well. People nowadays are too lax with their security until they finally have something happen to them, which will make them panic, making all the worst decisions/bowing down to the scammer threats.

That way you don't end up with a swat team outside your house and instead receive a call from the police to find out if it was a real report.

Very simple for someone behind you they can when you are near an ally way can make you (Walk to the cash point around the corner and withdraw 500 pounds), move back to ally place money on ground by giving specific instructions , hands on the bin/wall , knees on floor. - Mugger then walks upto money puts money in pocket and walks away. (of course if your not stupid you would have put pin in reverse to say you are being robbed.) So there is a small possibility mugger would get caught. A cleaver mugger would pretend to have a knife and convience you they have one but don't actually have one on there person.

Tell all your friends to get ore boxes, grind mining levels to lvl 50 and hoard the ores for later. Later comes smelting and blacksmithing, tell all your friends to make 2h swords and level them to max level to sell on the ge. Once you can make +3 rune 2h swords or even +2 adamant 2h swords you and your friends can make 2-4 mil per hour purely by smithing and selling your own swords with all the ores you previously mined to grind mining levels. I earned my membership for free this way and it only took half a month, few hours every few days. +3 rune warhammers have also been selling for 240,000 each, yes that’s right each! I sold 7 just this week at the average price of 240k and made 1.65 mil.

Other MMOs you just kill monsters and the quests are also kill 10 of that monster lol. Plus you can get everything you want if you have money whereas in Runescape the most important gear is locked behind various quests and other things you need to complete. Who are you to judge how long its appropriate to play the same game? As i said nothing comes close. I quit OSRS tho because it's so toxic and full of sweaty tryhards. It's far from actual OSRS. Rings have no model ingame so even if lurer uses a bot to detect what you're wearing, they can't do it with rings. That means there's actually a way to get out of plows, with something like a ring of dueling, after that you can teleport to Hosidius and run back. Chances of this succeeding are slim and you shouldn't do it but technically its possible.

Do some research on a lure involving an initial successful anti lure. The first player adds you and befriends, saying he made a lot of gp anti luring and asks if you’d like to come along to help for easy gp by just logging under the lurer with no items. You get something small like a whip and almost get a valuable item. The second anti lure you get invited on is a lure for you. He says to switch positions and he’ll log under this time, you take out your items and get the lurers attention. It ends in you being zamorak brewed and drawn out of the bank while the guy “your helping” is on discord with you. I lost 800m to this lure. Diabolical. Think your helping the community and it’s a lure. Stay safe and thank you for fighting back @kempQ
