@@LurgsHowToGuides There are 9 provinces in SA, and I live in the Western Cape, the only one where it rains in the winter. Cold + wet makes it impractical to hang dry clothing, especially the heavier pieces one usually wears during winter . The tumble dryer is not even a luxury here, it's a necessity.

Brilliant video, thank you so much. My condenser unit now looking as good as new - I was always wary of putting water through this, as the Candy Instruction book just says "hold it under a running tap", but didn't elaborate as to how exactly this should be done. Managed to get a load of gunk cleared from the condenser after watching your video - its worked a treat 🙂 Had a load of laundry that was still damp after a cycle yesterday, so hopefully the cleanout will have helped. Ours is similar - I undo the screw's on the condenser filter and yank that plastic end piece off feels like it's going to snap, but it's just the clips coming away - then I get a long pipe cleaner in there - the shower didn't clean it that good because we use fabric conditioner (which is like wax) that puts a greasy layer on the metal - good scrub with the pipe cleaner & washing up liquid gets it off 👍

Hey, thanks for the video, it helped a lot. I didn't know you could rinse out the condenser unit. But I'm wondering, what's the problem with draining down all that lint? I mean, it's mostly organic material. Also most places clean sewage water quite effectively. What's your take?

Try to catch as much of it as possible before it goes down the plug hole. Just shows how much comes off of clothes in washing and tumble dryer.

A lot of clothes fibres are unfortunately plastic, which quickly break down into microplastics that aren't efficiently cleaned out by sewage systems (even when the water companies aren't dumping it all into waterways).

but how do you clean all the now WET "fluff" from inside the tumble dryer condenser?? Because what you did will leave all wet fluff inside and being wet will now stick inside and clog up even more. And putting it back and wet inside using the tumble dryer fluff will stick to all the wet areas and make it worse. I've done it your way but find a very thin, skinny long handle brush does a better job and it's dry. A baby cleaning skinny flexi handle soft brush may help

Good video but condenser should not have got in that state in first place. I was cleaning mine every 2 to 3 weeks. Had to have the candy engineer out to attend to a fault. He looked at my condenser and said I should be able to see clear daylight right through. Mine was not that dirty but he said I should be cleaning once a week if used a lot or at least once a fortnight for maximum efficiency. Thought I would share with everyone.
@randpkandprgpearce55238 ай бұрын
Just to add make sure you empty the water tank (that captures the water during the drying process) at least after 3 to 4 runs. Once its full your clothes will take for an age to dry. Best keep on top of it.

We have been given this Hotpoint Aquarius condenser drier and the lady said it was working in good condition but when we got it home and plugged it in to try it the drier tripped out the electric after a few seconds so we switched off the drier and turned the electric back on what had been tripped then we tried the drier again and it did the same thing so we don't actually know what the problem is l checked the condenser and it was clean also the filter were the fluff is collected and that was clean so could you give some advice on why it trips out the electric

Unfortunately it could be you have a modern consumer unit which may be more sensitive to spikes. Only way to prove it would be to plug it in at someone elses house or on a different plug\circuit somewhere. Did you see it working before you took it home?
