Thanks for saying, Chinkali! It's true. I have made some wonderful friends in Zambia, so it's easy to reflect positive things about it. I was even lucky enough to have First President Kenneth Kaunda sing Happy Birthday to me! Also, as I was there on my birthday, one friend here felt bad that I was on the the other side of the world from my home on my own for my birthday, so he held a big barbeque in his backyard and invited around 30 friends and neighbours! What an incredibly fun tie, I'll never forget! :-)

Thank you for your positive remarks. Do another video of Zambia to record the significant changes that have taken place since. Thanks

Formerly known as Northern Rhodesia, when Zambia became independent in 1964, it had one of the strongest economies in Africa. Once the largest producer of copper in the world, when copper prices were high Zambia had strong economic growth. Unfortunately, long-time president Kenneth Kaunda used the copper revenue to create a welfare state rather than to develop the nation's infrastructure and when copper prices plummeted the nation's economy was shattered. I am glad to see that it has now bounced back and will finally fulfill the promise it had at independence.

This is good news, I was last there just a little while ago. I'm glad to see the new buildings as a sign of growth. I'm also very happy that you mentioned that while at a market BARGAIN, b/c they will rip off a tourist in a heartbeat- but don't be a jerk, these ppl need the money in a way that ppl who've never been to any African country could imagine. Great video!

+Rashaenka Nairobi is a one of a kind city, a busy hub and the economic heart of east Africa. If you have an extra few days you must go to the Maasai Mara, I have a friend that is a very fine safari driver at the Mara, but he lives in Nairobi. Maasai Mara is worlds largest open game reserve and it is to Kenya- what Victoria Falls is to Zambia and Zimbabwe. Are you from Lusaka?
