Or just reheat so it can make your hair cuticle open up? also I saw some one say to add lemon to it as well to make it darker but not to put it in a metal bowl ? If mixed black tea and lemon will that help to make it darker? Sorry I've only used henna 1 time and that was in the 90's on Virginia Beach board walk at a little hippy salon ....so I don't really know how they did it, but it was a red henna not the blue indigo based like Nori and Brun. I'm planing on doing Brun 1st and then Nori as Erica said in another video it gives more depth to the color. Thank you :)

For people wondering if this can be used for Dark hair , Yes . Here in India , we use it for dark hair which will leaves your grey hair burgundy shade which will fade away slowly. But it definetly will leave your hair a lot Healthier than you think.This is also proved to reduce your body heat .

U can add beetroot extract to the henna for a reddish tint or tea packs for more brown.. But these will yield subtle shades only not bright like a chemical based hair color

When applying henna, you should wait 2-4 hours, then wash it with just water! Because henna tends to make the hair drier, so shampoo will make it extra dry! What I do is wash it with water only, then the next day I apply any kind of oil on my hair then wash it with shampoo. In my arab culture we usually do this method. Also you should let the henna sit after you apply water to it for 1-2 hours before applying it your hair.

Just a tip here, you shouldn't mix henna with a metal spoon, use a wood one instead, also don't let it get dry, cover your head with some plastic bag you already have at home and re-use it 🖤 that's really important if you want the pigments to actually activate. I've been using henna for many years now and these are the main tips in order to get a good result, if not you'll just end up with a slightly change of color under the light. No matter if it's henna from lush or anywhere else, make sure the preparation process is well done, and let it sit for a a day where you made it before putting it on, at least let it cool down. Bear in mind that the more oils henna has in it, the less colorful will be at the end, it'll be more silky but the results will be less evident. Hope this helps! Also henna it's messy and needs patience, so if you don't want to have the henna on for a couple of hours (minimum) just don't do it, because it'll be worthless.

Inkmagination if the henna is pure (no metallic salts) it’s totally okay to use a metal spoon/bowl when mixing. When you’re mixing your own henna you want it to sit for 4-12 hours for the dyes to release. I think lush henna has already had dye release, and that’s why you can use it immediately after you melt it. Totally agree with the covering of your hair though after application. Especially if you are going for more vibrant red tones, you have to keep the heat in while it is processing.

Olivia Coleman I had no idea that I even had psoriasis until I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis last year. But I've been using henna for years as my natural red hair faded with time, and I was against traditional dyes myself. The "bad dandruff" (your aunt will know just how bad) that I struggled with for years was healed after one use. The itch comes back right on time for me to touch up, it's a little messy, so don't wear clothes you like, do it in a room like a bathroom, it can be messy but gets better with practice. One of the reasons I pick lush is the intense scent lush protects have. Henna can smell like hay. Straight up hay. But it's totally worth the medicinal benefits. Good luck to your aunt, and help her, I can't do it alone with these elbows.

never wash out with shampoo! just rinse with water, otherwise you wont get a good fixation of the henna, you can shampoo after 24 h the soonest. Also its very good to put the henna on the scalp it conditions it and gives it a very soothing and amazing feeling. Also apply in freshly washed damp hair for best results.

Even if u don't see much diff my hair is so much healthier since I don't use box anymore. It's thicker and when the Grey's come in it's tonal instead of a line u get with box dye. Also over time layering gets better and colour gets stronger

If you have type 4 hair, since the products is really grainy, I suggest blending it to get extra chunks out. Also a really foamy shampoo helps to get the grains out.

I use the rouge henna on my hair about every 6-8 weeks and I have light brown hair so fortunately it does not turn out brassy. I also leave mine on WAY longer than recommended (usually 8-12 hours) and it leaves a BEAUTIFUL deep natural-looking red. But not everyone wants to commit to 8-12 hours of having a poop-like substance all over your head! Regardless, I love this henna and I can see myself using it for many years to come.

I put it on before I sleep sometimes. Wrap it in a plastic shower cap and a hair scarf. I lay an old towel over my pillow. That way I'm unconscious so I don't think about the mud in my hair. The longer you leave it on, the richer the color gets. But 1-2 hours is also plenty time to get a nice color.

I love Henna Marron, used it a couple of times now. What i do is to not used shampoo to wash it out, i use conditioner. Sounds weird but it kinda helps to „carry“ out the cocoa butter.

My advice would be to cut the henna into small chunks and then grind them, whether manually or with a processor. I used a NutriBullet. Saves a lot of time and makes the mixture very smooth.

About to use the lush henna a second time with the Brun instead of Marron. (Experimenting). I made a HUGE mess in my kitchen last time, didn’t get the right consistency first and was crying for my daughter to come help. Felt like it was a disaster but my hair turned out really nice. We have been using henna for centuries it has benefits beyond just colour it's used to reduce body heat and as a conditioning agent we DO NOT mix it with butter or oil but yes to enhance colour coffee powder or black tea and other herbs are added for conditioning egg or fenugreek seeds are crushed and added it gives an orange hue to whites so for black use indigo powder once you're done with the henna

I used henna for years. The problem is you have to grown it out completely before you can use conventional colour. It coats the hair very thoroughly. Nothing will take over the top of it.

I would recommend doing a strand test. My hair was blonde like the 2nd woman, and it went really ginger, such a vibrant and bright colour with an equal mix of the rouge and marron henna bars, nothing like her colour- so it must be different on everyone. I love my colour :) it took a good hour to rinse out and was a messy process (don't use a white towel for the first few washes!!!) But I love it x

I put mine in a blender and pour the boiling water in there with it. It breaks it down and melts it fast. Then just scoop it out! If there's a bunch left in the blender, you can put a little water in, blend it again, then pour it out. If you mix the watery stuff in and let it cool a little, it gets thick again.

I plan on going back to henna, my hair was so much better off before I used “pro grade” tubes, so much so that my hair grew like a jungle combined with the tlc of coconut oil. Just a suggestion use glass, plastic, or even a stone bowl so the henna doesn’t oxidize.

They look so amazing with the henna!!! I heard that it's safer to use henna every 3-6 months. Although it is natural and healthy, overdoing anything can have negative results, and too much protein can actually cause hair loss if used consistently more often than every 3-6 months. It would be sad for someone to give up on conditioning and coloring with henna just because she did it too often, and her hair started breaking from the overload. Moderation in all things! ;) Great results! Those colors really do suit those girls so well!!! And, henna will become deeper with every application. :)

Do yourself a favour and make henna mix yourself. Lush mix is sooo heavy and difficult to rinse because of all the butter it has in it. I started with this one and hated it, then I just bought 100% henna powder (lawsonia inermis) and mixed it a tablespoon of sour agent (lemon juice, apple cider vinegar or amla powder) and water, then I leave it for 8-12 hours for the colour to develop. I also add ground fenugreek and other herbs for extra care for my hair and scalp. Seriously so much better and faster to rinse out. After I finished Lush product I started to like applying and rinsing henna on/from my hair :)

This stuff is pretty messy but it didn’t stain like I was afraid it would. I used Marron the first time and left it on for 4 hours with a plastic processing cap over it. It completely covered my grays (turned them an intense auburn color that was slightly lighter than my other hair). I’m using Brun this time around. I think the most difficult part for me is washing out after. That stuff gets EVERYWHERE and it takes 3-4 washes to get all the coffee grounds rinsed out.

Unfortunately in Germany the lush-henna comes without any instructions. As i bought mine in sore the “henna-sells-person” didn’t know how to use it at all and for every question i had that person referred said “check online”. As I asked how should I prevent the henna from staining my skin and I specially asked if there was a product to prevent this from happening he/ she said i didn’t need anything and that the henna form lush wasn’t going to stain my skin 🤔

Instead of using a knife to break the bar apart, put it in the microwave in a microwave-safe bowl for 30 seconds to one minute. That will soften the bar up and you can easily break it apart by hand or with a spoon.

A packet of Henna powder costs around 1-2 dollars ... You need to mix it with black tea water and soak for few hours and then apply. Cocoa Butter is not really needed. This product must be very costly because of it.

I've used henna before and have never had a problem until today! I used Lushs' henna for the very first time. It kept getting crumbly on me even though I was adding water and made it melted chocolate consistency. It was SO frustrating. It changes it forever you cant take it off also with bleach

Its not bleach but if you have black hair it gets brownish black or Greyish black but blonde brunettes have lasting color changes.
