Lush How It's Made: Scrubee Body Butter

Scrubee Body Butter is a true Cult Classic: this super-moisturizing, toffee-scented body scrub was originally a Mother’s Day exclusive, but you loved it so much that we had to bring it back for good! Genesis and Madu from our manufacturing team are here to show us how these lil’ buzzers are made. We start by chopping up fair trade organic cocoa butter, which has a rich, skin-conditioning texture to really soften you up. Next, we prepare ground almonds and ground coconut shell, which buff away dry skin to leave you super smooth. (It's a true Plastic Free July fave, so you won't find plastic microbeads here!) Then we add a generous helping of local honey to lock moisture into your skin. The finished mixture gets poured into molds to create the Scrubees’ black stripes, and they’re topped up with more cocoa butter to complete our scrubby bees. And that’s how it’s made!

I absolutely love Lush products I just wish they weren’t sold in plastic or had a bulk style option. Silky Underwear, no drought, and the greench have been my go-tos for so long but it seems so wasteful to buy small plastic bottles every time I need dry shampoo when there’s tons of plastic free alternatives out there. Maybe packaging them in glass or cardboard of some kind. Or at least having larger options that I can use to refill my small bottles.

We’re serious about reducing our impact on the earth and are always looking at our packaging and processes to see how we can improve. Our bottles are sold in 100% post-consumer plastic which can be recycled once again. In 2012, we made our clear bottles thinner by 10% to reduce our plastic usage and in 2016 alone, this saved almost 13,500 pounds of plastic. 💚♻️

I dont want glass jar bec we cant carry them here in there. I already stopped purchasing body sprays from TBS bec of glass and then the lid is another problem. I buy all my body spray from Lush or VS. Easy to carry and no worry of breaking. Plz lush, dont do glass jars. U guys are already doing a great job for enviroment and doesnt need more. I spend more than 1000 pound a year on lush products. Love u guys

Sorry I know you commented this 1 year ago but my reply might also help others in the future scrolling by. -have you tried a chemical drain cleaner? Since these are just oils, it would take a very long time for this to be the sole reason your drain is clogged. If there’s hair and gunk already in there, then I can see how oils hardening on it would make the problem worse since there is already very little space for water to go through. A chemical drain cleaner can be bought easily. (google where to buy it, might be different where you live) and it’s very easy to use and fast. It sounds a bit scary and smells awful but it’s genuinely easy to do and will help a lot. Depending how bad the blockage is, you might need to do the process a few times. But soon enough your drain won’t clog so easily. ^_^ life saver if you’ve got long hair like me that is a true enemy to my shower drain lol
