Just to touch on comedians posting crowd work, it allows them to demonstrate their style of comedy without giving away the bits they have spent time developing. The really big names spend all year working up an hour long routine and dont want to ruin the surprise for people going to the live shows. And when it comes to Anthony Jeselnik, his special Thoughts and Prayers is probably my most watched comedy special, I've seen it at least 30 times and I laugh so hard every time

We took my SIL to a comedy show for a woman's version of a stag party. We had her wear a cheap looking veil. The comedian thanked her after the show for providing him with some material. He spent a good 15 minutes 'harassing' her. It was priceless. I never laughed as much as I did that night.

I laid the trap and waited ... I was like 10 or maybe a bit more lol. I waited, knowing he'd come and close the door there, and stayed low to the ground.... When he went to close a quick "WHAA!" and he swung at nothing but air. Makes the scare even 10 times more funny. I almost crapped my heart out when The woman started to say "I hate it when".... and so relieved when she went on to say something about vigorously filing nails. (Big exhale from me) I truly love this channel and really enjoy watching it but I don't think I could have continued watching it knowing a nurse would say something about hating people with congenital birth defects or something along those lines. Matt doesn’t only do crowd work though, I’ve seen clips of him talking about how it’s usually only 10-15% of his set, and how the crowd work clips are just the clips that get more views. And while yes it is usually “at the expense of the person in the crowd” but they’re usually an active and willing participant. You don’t yell something out at a comedy show or answer a question, and not expect a response or joke from the comedian. Some people are just better sports about being the butt of the joke than others, and that’s why it’s funny and a good way to market your comedy. If people think “oh, I might be able to be apart of the show if I go see him” it will entice people to go
