Fantastic stuff! Nice to know that some of the very first things that Richard Halliwell (Hal) did for Warhammer have survived alll these years - although I heard nothing of Tony Ackland and my terrible Slann name puns... shame... Cheers Rick (aka Gynzmytipol) ;)

I think we can safely say you and Hal built this stuff to last! I’ll be making sure to talk Tony and the many outslannding puns - there’ll be plenty of that in my video on the history of Lustria in the near(ish) future!

I thought it was a good overview of what is generally in the book, which is what I look for in these types of videos. I'm specifically interested in WFRP stuff, as I am prepping to play with a local group in the next few months, and enjoy hearing others experience with the books. I really enjoyed your interviews of the C7 guys as well!

Great video, Jordan. I liked the 'vibes over rules' approach. As someone who doesn't play WFRP, but has had Undead since 4th Ed, I'd be interested in buying it just for the Vampire Coast background. I always thought that was a cool part of the lore, even though I'm sure it was just originally tossed in to fill out that two page timeline they put in the Armies book

There are other channels who do videos on rules and mechanics, and I do find them incredibly useful, but, unless that's something that particularly excites you, then stick to the vibes. How an rpg feels, what it's about is more likely to sell me on a game than a discussion about how it does that.

I thought the Lizardmen managed to kick out the Skaven from Lustria. But they keep sneaking back. I would love to see some books on Bretonnia, Kislev, Estalia and Tilea. Realm of the Ice Queen was one of the best books from WFRP second edition.

Lustria appeared to be at a time considered to become the centre of the Warhammer setting during WFB 1st and 2nd edition. Yes, Lustria could have been what the Old World became ;) If you look into the Citadel Journals/compendiums of that period (84-86?), maybe on Stuff of Legends, you see most early GW published scenario's for Warhammer being set in Lustria, and Lustria being announced as early as '84 as the first upcoming Warhammer supplement alongside Rogue Trader and Realm of Chaos.

While I enjoyed this I would have liked to know some about the specific things in it. Y’know, some notable monsters, character options etc. Actually, what I’d most like is some coverage of the main game itself. I don’t know much about it so it’d be helpful for me personally but if O could also point other people to a video and say to ‘em “here. Check this out. Doesn’t it sound exciting” that’d r REALLY useful.

Great review. I want the overview of a product rather than too much detail. I always think reviews that actually quote rules and show all the stat blocks are unfair to the publishers as really you should be paying for the book to get that.

So you’ll have to take my opinion with a grain of salt as A, I got this for free, and B, I absolutely love reading RPG sourcebooks even if I never plan to use them, the form just appeals to me. That said, I think the book is a great read! Lots of really interesting lore and detail, very worthwhile for learning more about this version of Lustria and adding some nice world building for an under-represented portion of the map.

@@jordansorcery Awesome thank you - I was reading a friend's copy of the 1e book, enjoying Gotrek and Felix, and it made me wonder if some of the 4e books might be a fun read. Maybe there's a cheeky video at some point in "Top 5 WFRP books for people who just love Warhammer Fantasy / TOW"?

Wait what? They included a skink race, but not saurus or even better: Kroxigor? I've homebrewed both as player options myself, but it's a bit disappointing to not see official versions of them. Don't get me wrong, I understand why Kroxigors specifically wouldn't be an option from game design pov, but I doubt WFR community cares about whether or not something is too strong. Like, this is a game where wizards and warrior priests are insanely powerful when compared to anyone else, so I doubt anyone would complain about Kroxigor having 20 more strength than the human knight.

Overall the book is a good addition to the 4th edition, but the lack of maps for places like the Citadel of Dawn and New Bechafen is a lost opportunity. I was also a little disappointed that Chaos influence in Skeggi was so heavy. Not every Norscan has to be a Chaos worshipper.
