I am exactly like the patient you talk about. I have had secondary infertility for 10 years and even though i have a 28 day cycle i always start spotting around a week after my lh surge. I spot for a few days and then my period comes

I have the same issue for years. Secondary infertility. Spotting very early 19,20,21 starts and then continues until full period day 26. I am have advanced maternal age and it is as blamed on egg quality. However, I know 2 friends who are the same age and they have robust luteal phases with no deficiency. When I take a good quality Chasteberry (Vitex) 3 days after ovulation and throughout luteal phase it stops the spotting. But, I still haven’t conceived yet. I still would want to try this HCG later in cycle to see if this helps to conceive. Thank you!
