People don't realize that Luther had been toiling in the entertainment industry for 12 years and was 30 years old when this song was released. Sometimes success can be immediate, other times it's living in obscurity for years before you get that break. You can have the greatest voice in the world and may never get that chance. Never Too Much was 12 years in the making from his time performing on the first season of Sesame Street, to the misses with his group Luther, to writing commercial jingles and performing with groups you've never heard, like Mascara, to his first taste of success with the group Change. This is Luther's time to shine, and once he got the opportunity, the rest, is history.

Back on 2001 when I was living in NYC. There WAS A MUSICIAN playing a guitar getting off thr 6th train on UES. my buddy and I leaving the subway, stopped and I knew only the first verse. And he let me join in and sing. HE was on point and I had my moment (as as a chubby Italian suit) at 34 years old.. to sing with him. One of the best 2 -3 minutes of my life. We stopped folks exiting the train as they were like..WTF?!!! I will never forget that tiny moment in time in my life. That man ALWAYS had a smile on his face when he performed. Truly a man touched by the hand of God. 3:51

I swear it is so unbelievable that so many of our brightest stars in the sky were taken away much too early. How could we lose Luther, Whitney, Michael, Prince, Barry, etc. They gave us so much, but we know they had so much more to give. Cherish those who provide the soundtracks to our lives, for they are never promised for tomorrow!

I can't fool myself I don't want nobody else to ever love me You are my shining star my guiding light my love fantasy There's not a minute, hour, day or night that I don't love you You're at the top of my list 'cause I'm always thinking of ya I still remember in the days when I was scared to touch you How I spent my day dreamin' plannin' how to say "I love you" You must have known that I had feelings deep enough to swim in That's when you opened up your heart and you told me to come in Oh my love, a thousand kisses from you Is never too much, I just don't wanna stop Oh my love, a million days in your arms Is never too much, I just don't wanna stop Never too much, never too much Never too much, never too much Woke up today, looked at your picture just to get me started I called you up but you weren't there and I was broken hearted Hung up the phone, can't be too late, the boss is so demandin' Opened the door up and to my surprise there you were standin' Who needs to go to work to hustle for another dollar? I'd rather be with you 'cause you make my heart scream and holler Love is a gamble and I'm so glad that I am winnin' We've come a long way and yet this is only the beginning Oh my love, a thousand kisses from you Is never too much (never too much, never too much, never too much) I just don't wanna stop Oh my love, a million days in your arms Is never too much (never too much, never too much, never too much) And I just don't wanna stop Oh my love, a thousand kisses from you is never (Never too much, never too much, never too much) never I just don't wanna stop A million days in your arms is never too much

Lyrics: I can't fool myself, I don't want nobody else to ever love me You are my shinin' star, my guiding light, my love fantasy There's not a minute, hour, day or night that I don't love you You're at the top of my list 'cause I'm always thinkin' of you I still remember in the days when I was scared to touch you How I spent my day dreamin' plannin' how to say I love you You must have known that I had feelings deep enough to swim in That's when you opened up your heart and you told me to come in Oh, my love A thousand kisses from you is never too much I just don't wanna stop Oh, my love A million days in your arms is never too much I just don't wanna stop Too much, never too much, never too much, never too much Woke up today, looked at your picture just to get me started I called you up, but you weren't there and I was broken hearted Hung up the phone, can't be too late, the boss is so demandin' Opened the door up and to my surprise, there you were standin' Well, who needs to go to work to hustle for another dollar I'd rather be with you 'cause you make my heart scream and holler Love is a gamble and I'm so glad that I'm winnin' We've come a long way and yet this is only the beginnin' Oh, my love A thousand kisses from you is never too much (Never too much, never too much, never too much) I just don't wanna stop Oh, my love A million days in your arms is never too much (Never too much, never too much, never too much) And I just don't wanna stop Oh, my love A thousand kisses from you is never (Never too much, never too much, never too much) I just don't wanna stop Oh, my love A million days in your arms is never too much

The voice who literally sang me through my coming of age. I had the pleasure of literally having him in my office one on one for 10 minutes. I called my dear friend on the west coast to tell her and he so graciously said hello to her. He was genuinely honored to do so. There will never be another.

I was there in 2001 at Madison sqaure garden. It was the MJ 30th anniversary concert. I worked for a big record label there as an A&R rep and joked to my boss to not give me a bonus that year, just get me into the concert. He did-it was life changing. No one had a clue Luther was gonna be there. All dude had to do was belt out a note and the whole damn crowd made me deaf for 2 weeks. Everyone knew it was him. Probably the most recognizable R&B voice of all time. The amount of talent that night was absolutely unbelievable.

@@AyoBlade-u2s The label disbanded and went back to it’s original name. The heads of the label ran it to the ground and were headed by complete morons who had zero knowledge in music or performing. I went to Medical School a few years after the concert. After MJ and Luther died, everyone else sang like trash. Even Mariah lost it. Sad but facts.

Patti Labelle vouched for him early in his career. Miss Patti told the story of how they met on Andy Cohen's show. Apparently Luther was an accountant or something like that at the time but he was a massive Patti fan so he brought a rack of women's gowns and snuck into the theater where Patti was performing, claiming he was a stylist and then he wormed his way to Patti's room and they became instant best friends.
