I know the glass canister is dishwasher safe, what about the steel lids? Are they dishwasher safe also? I bought a set, just not sure if that is true.

Hi there, we recommend to wash the lids by hand. They can be washed in the top shelf of the dishwasher, but we have not tested this over a long period of time, so recommend handing washing.

Just got my set, and am impressed. These seal so much better than the glass Rubbermaid and Glasslock brands. I was looking for a replacement because I don’t care for the plastic lids on the brands I had, and the gaskets on the Glasslock set kept tearing. With Glasslock, the gaskets collect mold underneath unless you remove them every time you clean, but they tear frequently because you have to use a butter knife to get them out. Am I correct that Luvele does not require the silicone gaskets to be removed for cleaning? It seems like you can fold them back for cleaning, which is a nice feature, and being plastic free is a major benefit. The glass feels solid. I had one other question. Does using the vacuum pump create a breakage risk when used long term?

Hi there, thanks for the great feedback and your questions. Firstly, our glass containers and stainless steel lids have been designed to cope with constant and long-term vacuum sealing, so they will not break due to this. The silicone seals are permanently stuck on tot he lids, so you do not remove these. Due to this cleaning is very easy as you have mentioned, just wash them in position on the lid : ))

Brilliant design, because of course it is exactly what I imagined, other than the lid - I imagined glass with a silicone seal. Glass could be able to go into the microwave. Of course, glass is breakable - I really like your design. ‘Bout to pony up….

Thanks for the feedback. A glass lid would also make it super heavy which would not be practical.

@@luvelelife I stuck my phone in the 3rd largest cannister on altimeter mode and screen recorded it for an hour. The pump took the phone to a virtual 18,000ft before I removed it. The canister ooooh soooo slowly leaked air back in to a bit more than 17,300 ft over about 90 minutes. If I were to re-vacuum the canisters in use once a week it would likely keep everything at a virtual 15,000 ft or more… and that rarified air means longer shelf life. thanks again for the excellent, well-thought-out product. Now make some more types, cause here I come again…..

So you seal a container of almonds. You use the almonds every day on breakfast cereal. I guess this means to keep them as fresh as possible, you need to seal everyday after use ? I guess this is why the portable sealer is more convenient than using the attachment on the LUVELE SUPREME PLUS VACUUM SEALER? Please confirm. Thanks Greg

@@luvelelife I received a set of 4 different containers and am very please with them. Are there any plans to release other sized containers that may be flatter for meal prep purposes? Such as having a bigger meal size without the additional height of the 1.3l or the 2.5l containers while keeping the same footprint/lid size? Taking some to work would be nice for lunch if the larger sizes were flatter...

Hello! Plastic-free sous-vide user here. I expect that wouldn't work well. The near vacuum would not transfer heat well. With the flexibile bags you get heat conduction through the bag itself. With one of these you'd probably end up with whatever your cooking getting cooked from the bottom where it has contact with the hot surface. Silicone bags are much more practical. There are hand pump vacuum varieties available.
