@guenterw.4634 I Believe that you might have been a Teenager and 50 Years Later She’s Still Onstage, But Cher Is 77 Years Old! She Met Sonny when She Was 16 Years Old! She Told Sonny She Was 19 years old.. Cher and Sonny started dating when she was 16 years old and, As Cher Says It, She Became Sonny’s Housekeeper when She Was 16 Years Old! They were Married Before Cher was 20 Years Old! Cher Is 77 Years Old Now?!? Basically It’s been More like 61 Years Later Since Sonny Bono Became “Sonny And Cher”!

We saw her and Sonny in concert in 1977 when she was married to Gregg Allman. The show was great. Sonny tried to joke about Gregg but it was awkward. We saw in Cher in 2000 when she did her "Believer" tour and she was phenomenal. Like no time had passed at all.

Sonny Bono Did Create “Cher”, but She Was Only 15-ish Years Old When Sonny Bono Opened Her “Pandora’s Box “! Sonny Married Cher When She Was Still a Teen And He Was A Very Successful Businessman Via Show Business! So, Again, Yes, Sonny Made Cher A Star In Securing “The Sonny And Cher Comedy Show”back in the 1970s.. Here’s The Rub, Though… While Sonny Met & Began “Dating” An Underaged Girl; Pitched The Sonny And Cher Show; Made Cher A Very Young Star (as He became a Star)! Sonny Bono’s “Real Mistakes” Was Underestimating His Young Wife’s Potential For Her Own Successful Career Without Any Reason To Stay With Sonny Bono! Cher Figured Out That She Had The Same If Not More Abilities To Become An Even Bigger STAR Without Sonny Bono! Being A Much Older Man Meant He (Thought) His Control Over His Much Younger Wife, Cher, Would NEED Him To Stay A Star, But He Would Be The Brain-Agent-Manager and The Boss Of His Younger Wife! He Would Be Too Successful Making Cher His “TROPHY WIFE” And He Would Remain In Control Over The Both Of Them! Doh!?! Huge Mistake When Sonny Was Grooming His Teen Bride’s Beauty As Well As Her Plethora Of Talents That Were Above & Beyond His Own Control Or Lack Thereof.. Sonny Was In Charge Of Every Single Penny That He & Cher Were Making (Mostly From Cher’s Growth/Expansion Of Many Talents), But Sonny Never Gave Cher Access To Their Income And Building Wealth! Stupid Man..Cher Was Given An Allowance Each Week From Their Joint Bank Accounts?!? How Did Such a Smart Little Man Become Such A Control Freak With A Wife Who Outshined Him With Every Step They Took Before He Was Going To Be Served With Divorce Papers Within A Few Short Years After He Met The Teenager & Who Promoted Cher So Well That She Figured Out That She Had A Lot More Money Than Sonny’s Measly Allowance He Was “Letting Cher Have A Weekly Allowance” & Convincing Her That He Was Dividing Their Assets Equally?!? Sonny Bono Loved Cher, But He Never Understood How Important Cher Was To His Own Success Or That Cher Was The Only Key To His Continued Show Business Status?!? By Treating Cher Like The Young Girl Who He Never Believed She’d Learn About Her Own Show Business Plethora of Talents! Cher Loved Sonny Just As Much As Sonny Believed He Loved Her! But Cher Was Too Smart To Allow Sonny To Have Complete Control Over The Truth About Their Financial Dealings and How Little Money He Paid His Own Wife For His Successful Career?!? Cher Could Be An Actress, Singer, Comedic Abilities and Limitless Talents That Were At Cher’s Disposal The First Second of The First Sonny And Cher Comedy Show! Cher Has Maintained That She Would Always Love Sonny and Frequently Acknowledged That But For Sonny Getting Her On The Stage That Started Her Career She Probably Wouldn’t Have Been Confident (Because She Was Still A Teenager) To See What Sonny Saw In Her… Even When Sonny Passed Away, His 2nd Wife Asked Cher To Do Sonny’s Eulogy (Which She Did But Cried Real Tears Throughout)! Cher Said During An Interview That When She & Sonny Were Divorced And They Were Both Leaving The Courthouse And Sonny Leaned Over (As if He Was Going To kiss Her On Her Cheek with a Hug “Goodbye”) Sonny Kissed Her As If They Had Just Got Married (Tongue & All), He Turned & Walked Away. To This Day, Cher Says She Never Stopped Loving Sonny! She Did Express A Little Regret About Jumping Into A Second Marriage With Gregg Allman, But She NEVER Regretted Having Elijah Blue Allman! She has also Said That The “Bagel Boy” Was Probably The Love Of Her Life (But That Was Nearly 5 Decades Ago)! I Really Liked The Song She Performed On The Movie Burlesque entitled “You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me “ available on KZbin with Lyrics..

For those who may not know, Sonny Bono made both of them singing stars in the 1960s. Decades later, when Sonny couldn't get the zoning rules changed for his restaurant in Palm Springs, California, USA, he ran for Mayor to change them. He won. Later on, he ran for state representative and won and became a member of the United States Congress. Ex-wife Cher went on to have a successful solo singing and acting career.

She said recently in an interview that she loved him more as a brother or a father than a husband and that is why their marriage fell apart, he treated her like a child and was very controlling. You can see their relationship was much more genuine after the divorce even though people didn't like the fact of them not being a couple which I don't understand because why couldn't they be friends and still work together?? They had much more fun that way too
@bernieburawski1446
@bernieburawski1446 Жыл бұрын
@@mwamwa3488 I think it had to do with just the fact that when they were married and doing the show together, people could actually see their love for each other and being married but once they divorced the dynamics changed and people really didn't want to watch them knowing they were divorced.

@@Tessmage_Tessera The 60's. I was from a decent area and not a big city. Nice people. Low crime. New york was always bad. Only holywood did that sort of thing. If they did it in our counties and towns and cities... trust me... I would have noticed. That's my weakness. Boobs. So no, It never happened where I grew up and left. Only in california when I was in the Navy in the late 70's. It's the big cities.

This and The Smothers Brothers Show. I never missed either program. Each was hysterical. I couldn't wait to see Chers outfits, and I couldn't wait to hear what the Smothers Brothers had to say about what had happened in congress that week! Great shows. Nothing like them on today! Rest in peace, Dear Sonny. You left us way too soon. You are missed. 💕✌️🤗

I miss this show and them! I LOVED her wardrobe. I got my first pair of bell bottoms after seeing her wear them. Our babysitter and her boyfriend claimed “I Got You Babe” as their song. Her name was Carol. His name was Jerry. Jerry was killed in a car accident and Carol went into a mental hospital for quite a while. We moved away, and I never saw her again. I always wondered how she was. But that song I got you Babe is my all time most favorite song ever! Thank you Sonny and Cher for all the memories! I know that there’s a special place in heaven for Sonny!♥️♥️♥️
