Hi Kernow and crew. Hope you're all doing well. Sorry I haven't commented on any videos for a while. I really loved the video mate. It's an amazing location. I have to visit their soon. When you was on the viaduct I suddenly recognised it as a shooting location for the film the Oman 3. I think they had dogs and horses running along it. Which freaks me out with that drop on either side. That and a place called Roche Rock. Appear in the film. Not the greatest film but still cool to see Cornwall on the big screen. Cheers Kernow. Have a great rest of the day and week mate 👍😊👍

It sure is a interesting valley! Joseph treffry built the viaduct to serve his mining interests. Completed in 1842 was a horse drawn mineral tramway. It’s 90 feet high and 670feet long. Water flowing over the viaduct drove a massive water wheel that powered the incline railway to trefrry’s consols mine. Great view walking over the viaduct mate!👍

I didn't know that it was horse-drawn that's quite amazing and I am aware that they stop the water through the aqueduct I do recall somebody said that it was leaking I do remember visiting there a few years ago and you could see the water gushing through we will return to this valley as I missed out quite a few bits and pieces thank you for your comment Dave

@ no steam till 1872 it seems when cornwall mineral railway bought the tramway from the treffry estate and upgraded it all. Cornwall heritage trust now own the viaduct and are trying to raises money to fix the leaking aqueduct. Yes revisit in the spring sound like a good plan mate!
