For me its very impressing. I was a sailor 1970 -2016. Started as a Jr.Engineer in an Oil Tanker, which was India's 1st Super Tanker of that time. a 60,000 DWT Crude Oil Carrier. Late Mr.Krishna Raj Rai was my colleague, Ex Indian Navy MCPO, who joined as 3/E and a 1st timer in Merchant Navy. We worked together, forming the duty of 12/4 watch keeping. We had a good rapport. I sailed with Mr. Krishna Raj few times, till I became 3/E & he became Chief Engineer, on the same Ship. Mr. Krishna Raj was a Tall, sober & a soft Spoken through Gentleman. After 1974 I never had a chance to meet him & he left sea life earlier. Mr. Krishna Raj Rai was the Father of famous Bollywood Actress Aisharya Rai. From 1987 I became C/E and sailed till 2016, on Ships of the Sizes of 2,30,000 DWT to 10,000 DWT & of various types, such as Tankers, Container Vessels, Bulk Carriers & General Cargo Vessels. My last Ship was 105,000 DWT Crude Oil Tanker. My greatest ambition was to sail on a Passenger Vessel or Passenger Ferry or on a Luxury Yacht, as Chief Engineer, but so far it could not be succeeded. All my Sea going Certificates / Licenses are still valued and with the grace of God, enjoy good health too. I'm 72 year old now & still hoping & dreaming, I could be able fulfill my my ambitions, one of these days, on a small coastal Passenger Ship / Ferry or Yacht. As of now I'm spending my time with old memories of my past 46 years of Sea Life. The Video brings back my old memories & prompted me to pen the above. That's all.
