My finance boo said hermes, lv, kia and other companies have halted production. He thinks it is due to uncertainty in the market but maybe just another ploy to justify proce increases?

Just curious, what is your definition of luxury? Chanel for me used to be luxury because their items were well made, high quality and long lasting which justified the high price. Now, the price is even higher but the quality is significantly lower and don't last as long. These days you can get better quality, so called 'luxury' items from Primark. Is luxury now just a substitute word for 'long established brand name', regardless of value and quality?

Why did you recommend not buying any NEW Chanel bags? Why not just recommend that NO ONE buy ANY Chanel bags? Basic economics says buy buy buy preloved chanel bags. Quality changes happen over time from Chanel to vintage forever 21 lol. I guess it depends on how and why you are choosing to purchase luxury.
