I love the look of a lot of luxury shoes, but I will never pay that much money for something I walk around in. I will spend a lot for quality shoes, but they have to fit well, be well constructed and be maintainable and repairable. Most luxury shoes fail that criteria. Somehow, I think this is just a shakedown of the luxury companies, but it couldn't happen to better people, lol.

Does this mean they will be required to sell fully soled shoes? Hermes orans don’t have any soles, you can slip terribly and get hurt.

Giuseppe zanotti silver leather heels started to have dark spots appear all over the silver leather although kept in box and used once … review fr my friends and I 😢

The spots are probably mold, because the shoes shouldn’t remain inside the box - it provokes molding.

I feel something fishy about this, have you been to India? they should focus more on humanitarian issues and hygiene conditions on their restaurants, food industries and other things that are being more harmful to people than quality issues of shoes . Seriously 😒 wealthy Indians are still acquiring their brand-shoes anyway from neighboring countries or by traveling abroad.

Is anyone missing the fact that India is also doing this to protect its own Indian brands and depriving Indian customers of the choice of choosing foreign brands ? This is not new, every country has done this, its called trade nationalism. Now, Western countries can do the same to Indian products, but India is banking on its own huge domestic market. It's politics. Criticizing Western luxury labels for high price and lack of quality is fine, but let's not be so quick ( if you're also a Westerner ) for praising trade nationalism that will result in some losers, and it could be your own Western economy.

Always take news like this with a grain of salt. Stories like these have a lot sides. And it’s not fair to any brand to be judged by news that can mean one thing. Our family is in the distribution of imported goods business for more than 30+ years. We import goods from Europe, US, and Asia into my country. We only carry brands that are top tier in their respective categories. Not luxury but fast moving consumer products. And the bureaucracy you have to deal with is endless. We represented a brand that is of the highest quality in its category passing all standards in EU and US but we had to drop it as a partner in my country because the tests needed were insane and needed back handed deals to go through and our partner brand just gave up. Unless anyone working in government is of 100% objectivity or a robot with no emotions and other potential monetary motives, you don’t know exactly why one product will not pass a standardized test. Just saying. There are a lot of sides to the story.

My dear, as a Russian-American, I can assure you that there is more money in Russia now than ever. Luxury brands such as CHANEL and LV left Russia due to pressure from the US government, due to the invasion, but the funny thing is that French brands left the Russian market, and all American brands remained in Russia. This was an excellent move to cleanse the Russian market for the subsequent dominance of American brands.

Comparing these French brands trying to enter the Indian market to colonialism is just too much! We are all adults here, and we can all make decisions for ourselves. It's not as if the French luxury brands were holding guns to Indians' heads, forcing them to buy. We have a saying where I'm from: stupid is not the person that asks, but the person that gives. That said, I agree, the Indian government has every right to try and curb foreign saturation of their fashion market and promote homegrown players.
@SuperDacob8 ай бұрын
Its not that easy. Don’t forget centuries of indoctrination on behalf of wealthy colonial countries towards countries they colonized. Centuries of braun washing making people believe that the colonizers are better than the colonized people. This is very insipid and has long lasting effects even centuries after colonizers left… technically they left but they actually never really left. So think again once more and re evaluate your position… or not… like you said yourself… you are an adult so make up your own mind and decision.
