I think people discriminate against the dupes, but for me, I’ll pause when buying trendy bulk items or when I feel the over-consumption frenzy is taking its toll on me. I’m so sorry for you that you couldn’t get your dream come true with a Rolex or the Chanel shoes 😢. You are absolutely right about the girl’s face, but that is how you are being treated if you don’t fit their profile. I remember when I got into a very expensive shop (I still worked at that time) and I was wearing two the same shoes but one in white and one in black, they straight away came to me to get me out of the shop as soon as possible. I just took my time and bought the coat that I came for but they weren’t polite and I shouldn’t have bought anything there, but I just wanted the coat so badly. I think we deserve the same service as the unbelievably rich people specially if you spend your money on their stuff.

When I was 12 my mom took me to the LV on Bloor Street in Toronto. I had my fake LV from kislux on my arm and thought I was cute. The sweet sales ladies let me try on a bag and a pair of heels knowing we were not wealthy and couldn't afford to purchase anything. It as really nice. No one seemed to care I had a fake bag and I felt special. They even gave me a paper shopping bag which I used as a lunch bag for weeks after! :) Who cares if people don't have real ones? I'm 30 now and ironically, although I can afford them I still prefer real people with fake bags than fake people with real bags. Just saying :) (not that everyone who carries a real one is bad or vice versa.) Just means I don't care if people carry fakes.

Let's be honest. The luxury market isn't that expensive if you produce it at cost and take off the logo. The luxury logo is about 80% of the actual price. But the fact is that you're buying the image, showing off your taste, and making them think you have more money than you actually do, which is a very good thing. so kislux .

I do understand the judgey thing. I’m not saying I agree with it but if sales assistants see scruffy ppl coming in wearing really casual clothes, no obvious wealth (which sounds snobby but it’s true) then the likelihood is they’ll assume you’re just there to browse and not buy. Whereas if shoppers are smartly dressed, sales ppl can see they’re there to buy and not browse - that’ll likely mean they give them a better experience as they’re not gonna waste their time on ppl who are window shopping only. As I say, not necessarily I agree with it but I 100% understand it. It’s exactly the same in Harvey Nicks in Bristol. I go in to have a squirt of free perfume, ld never in a million yrs buy anything designer as I think it’s a waste of money but I think they’d sense that from me. I’ve never once been approached to ask if I need help or guiding me towards any brands as I guess they might sense I’m not there to spend money. But you see “serious” shoppers who are being treated like royalty! 😂
